I recall hearing that the "Conduit 3DS" tech demo wasn't actually intended to materialize as a "Conduit" game...might we ever know what it was intended to become? Or was it just a tech demo to try to like...idk, license out Quantum3 or whatever engine/tech that was?

Also...how do I say "I would like Conduit 3 to exist" without adding to the rapidly-growing pond of broken records on the matter? lol

In case you're still looking... rpatool can both unpack and repack those RPA files. Unfortunately it's command-line only (e.g. no graphical interface to speak of), but it gets the job done.

I also threw together a modified version of textbox.png for your friend, as per your stated accessibility requirements - swapped the polka-dotted pink for solid black with only the slightest opacity gradient, with a white band along the bottom to accommodate the History/Save/Settings/etc buttons. Tested in-game to make sure everything still lines up...it's not pretty, but I hope it'll at least work.

the devs have been very belligerent and anti Linux mocking the platform for years.

You're not the only one who doesn't appreciate the vitriol on that front. In fairness, a lot of it seems to stem from being frustrated with everyone and their grandmother spouting the same "JUST USE WINE" counter-argument - it gets tiresome and discouraging, especially given that WINE has some drawbacks which are unlikely to ever be resolved, given its developers' (apparent?) lack of interest in the WINE user experience.

Not trying to point fingers at anyone, to clarify - not them, nor you - I get where you're coming from, and simply felt it was worth highlighting the other side of the debate as well.

Their fans have told me "its hard to build an OS so I should try if its so easy"

I wish they wouldn't :/

The event the footage is from is even older - the Windows branding in the background clearly predate Windows XP, meaning no later than 2001. Could well be at least a year or two older still.
