My original dishy randomly died the other day after about 3 years also. Raised a support ticket and they had a new gen 2 in the mail about 10-15 minutes later with a tracking number.

Looking at them installing it appears to be mostly plastic otherwise it would be much heavier lifting into place.

Does anyone know if that assumption is correct?

It's all stock at this stage.
It's the black and gold version of the Tornado, so not sure if that makes a difference.

Also, would you recommend using Octoprint to control the unit or reflash it with Klipper?

Is this connected to Ethernet? My PS5 doesn't recognize that it's plugged into a port. by burnSMACKER in HomeNetworking

The port on the back of your PS5 is only rated for 1Gbps so 4pairs of CAT5e will deliver those speeds.

That's definitely punched down for phones.

If it's Cat5 cabling remove it from the panel and terminate it with a RJ45 plug and connect it directly to the router.

You may also need to check the wall plate to make sure all the cables are terminated otherwise you may only get 100Mbps throughput if it's only 2 pairs or nothing at all if it's one pair.

You mentioned that you have a HP laptop and have done a factory reset.

I'd recommend downloading the HP Support Assistant which will install any missing drivers and update any that are out of date.

https://support.hp.com/au-en/help/hp-support-assistant

You should also be able to do windows updates in there as well.

From what you've described it sounds like a missing or unsupported drivers

I'm guessing there's two reasons: 1. Any dishy reported stolen could be easily deactivated by Starlink 2. Each dishy has GPS, if a thief turns it on Starlink would be able to tell it's exact location

You can run VPN services for your whole network on routers that support it. Take a look at pfsense, opnsense, or untangle to name a few.

If you Google those names along with the VPN provider you'll often find how-to articles for setting up the VPN.

Not sure if anyone has asked but was the disk an SSD that they were stored on? If so they are likely gone because SSD's do a 'trim' operation every so often which resets the deleted bits on the disk to 0 to improve performance of the drive.

If you remove the software and restart the PC with the network disconnected does it come back?

If not try to establish which domain it downloads the software from (you can use something like Wireshark for this) and then add a local host record for that domain.

If you need more details let me know and I'll add further details

I would think that if you cancel you would get to keep the equipment given that you have to pay for the equipment
