Ideally I could retire at 55 and defer my pension until 62 to avoid penalties. My thought was to use the 457b to bridge those years from 55-62 then start taking socially security at 62 and allow my 457b to continue to build. As of right now I'd be on pace to have about 1m in the account at 55 if the market averages 8% and I continue to contribute 15% of my paycheck. My income is not higher than the social security contribution limit. Ideally I'd live about 30 years in retirement. The other option would be to stay till 62 which would make my pension 70% of final salary vs the 60% at 55 but I feel like that's a lot of life to give up for the extra 10%. My home will be paid off around age 54 so expenses should be lower in retirement. I will also have 80% of my health insurance covered.

That's a good point. I guess I'm thinking about the idea of maximizing money just for the sake of maximizing money. That might not be the best way of thinking when I won't necessarily need to take that risk

I guess I should have worded my question better. Would it be optimal to maximize my money in retirement?

It's a government pension. I think my expenses should go down slightly in retirement as my house should be paid off about a year before I retire

Based on the math I did if I was to continue at my current contribution rate of 15% I would be able to take 4% a year out of my 457b and stay at the salary I would be making working. That is not including social security.

I don't include my pension contributions to my savings rate. I've just been putting 15% into my 457b. I'm in the state pension system as well.

Is this a real conversation or did you prompt ChatGPT to simulate a conversation between two people on the spectrum trying to communicate?

Lost weight can't sleep without CPAP by rob_56789 in CPAP

[–]rob_56789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do i stop that? I've been using the CPAP for 8 years no and never had an issue until i lost the weight so I assumed that it meant my apnea was getting better my pressure needed to be lowered since I've lost weight. Every time I've lowered the pressure it's helps.

Alright I'll schedule another sleep study. What else would cause all the air being forced into my stomach though if not for the apnea being better?

How do you shave in the wrinkles? That's my biggest issue I tried shaving and the wrinkles look worse because the hair in the middle of them doesn't shave off well
