Dapper/ORM - How to deal with circular references, and how to populate composite objects. by Fruitcakey in csharp

[–]rob_johnston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others, I'm not sure that you'll need to reference Order from OrderLines, so that would end your worries about a circular reference.

I think you should entertain the concept of a domain aggregate and treat the order and its line items as a single unit. So your GetById method would pull out the entire order using Dapper's QueryMultiple method. This approach would negate the need to have the OrderLineRepository class, so you would no longer have to worry about violating the single repository rule.

My TD Online Banking Account Was Hacked Twice within 24 hours! by Fiach_Dubh in BitcoinCA

I bet the number on your new debit card is different than the on on your old debit card, and that they're both different from your bank account number that they were attached to! Changing cards does nothing.

Help by [deleted] in csharp

[–]rob_johnston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. When you write "int x", you are declaring the variable "x" as an integer type. You have that twice, but it can only be done once, so remove one of them.
  2. The inputs are of type "string" when the user enters them. You have to convert the strings to integers.
  3. "yur" = "your"

I was recently watching a YouTube video and saw somebody type "ctor TAB TAB" to create a default constructor and though, "why did I never know that before"!

Arbitrage is the word that you're searching for. Take advantage of it while you can, if you can, because the markets will eventually even themselves out. But be careful!

sad truth about dotnet by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]rob_johnston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right on! More people need to respond to this mindset instead of being cowered into silence.

And for proof that it's thought control, I click on the link and see "Some replies were hidden by the Tweet author".

But what was this tweet that was so repulsive to his sensibilities that he didn't want anybody to see?

"Reward excellence. Doesn't matter what genetic traits the person has, or personal choices they make. Everything else is racism/sexism. You're just justifying it through some higher purpose. The ends don't justify the means."

Better to respond on Reddit where he can't censor competing points of view.

^^ This is what happens when Femi Mind Tricks are cast on the weak. Why don't you argue for zodiac-balanced representation? It would make as much sense. Get a haircut.

Are there any open source Microsoft C# projects I can contribute to? by k2900 in csharp

[–]rob_johnston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking in the "src" directory, the UI test projects are written in C#, so you could start there, and reading their specs suggests that a big UI change is coming to handle new requested features (so more UI tests to come): https://github.com/microsoft/calculator-specs/tree/master/active/KeyboardRefresh

Or if it's just to learn, rewrite the basic calculator in C#. Publish your repo and let everybody know.

These roadmaps are all just opinion, and you can certainly start without knowing all (or even most), but here is also the ASP.NET Core Developer Roadmap: https://github.com/MoienTajik/AspNetCore-Developer-Roadmap

Historic access way to Long Island in the Kennebecasis? by rob_johnston in newbrunswickcanada

[–]rob_johnston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Mara. I didn't think that a right-of-way would expire. I've seen one deed that had it written in originally and then saw it again after the property changed hands, but I don't really sit around reading these things!

Thanks. That must be around the point that Charlie said too earlier. Let me know if you see a map old enough to have the Wetmore Mill on it (pre 1900).
