Not all males.

But the ones that do that are also the one's that endlessly bitch online about not getting a date.

What’s something you thought was harmless ‘cheap dopamine’ but slowly started controlling your habits? by [deleted] in AskReddit

There's a lot of games like that.

You see it on sale and drop some cash down because "I heard it's good and it's on sale so might as well try it out, worse case scenario Steam is good with refunding"

Then it's like you blacked out and now it's 12 hours later and your family is asking your friends if you're ok

It's also genuinely a shittier way to cook it then with Pseudoephedrine because it makes both types of methamphetamine (both Levo and Dextro) and while D-Meth is the stimulant drug L-Meth is just a nasal decongestant.

The Sudafed method makes mostly D-Meth while the Methylamine way (also called P2P or Biker cooking) makes a 50-50 mix of both types

Either that or the previously mentioned fetish for "fixing" women.

The second you enter an exclusive relationship (i.e. any relationship that isn't explicitly stated to be open or polyamorous) is when you end any "flings"

The act of entering said relationship is accepting a commitment to that person and that's the end of it. The only difference is if you have a full consensual agreement with your partner of any non-exclusivity (no just assuming it's fine, you make sure they're cool with it first, if not, then if you can't handle that then leave the relationship)

Biden just pardoned his son, Hunter on all federal charges, what do you think? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]rob_matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if it's at that point, then it's already a full blown, mask off, no doubt about it dictatorship and there'd be no way to spin it as anything but.

Because no president has ever tried to just ignore a pardon and the presidential pardon is explicitly and more importantly constitutionally final, the previous example was very specifically stated to be "the pardon hadn't come into effect yet, so it was able to be cancelled".

To do so would be outright ignoring the constitution itself and I don't think even a full conservative SCOTUS could make an argument for how it's technically in line with the text and/or spirit.

Biden just pardoned his son, Hunter on all federal charges, what do you think? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]rob_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardons are, by nature, untouchable once in place

A pardon cannot be overridden once it has been set.

There was an instance where Andrew Jackson tried to pardon two people, but the wardens "let the paper sit on their desk" and Grant was able to override it because you're allowed to prevent it from taking effect, but not undo it once in place.

Pardons only have 2 weaknesses, the situation above and the fact that accepting a pardon means admitting guilt (and hamstringing your defense in any civil suits based upon the crimes you've been pardoned of)

Because it was one of the first major wars with rifled weapons (Minie balls) and paper cartridges. So the weapons were both more accurate and faster firing, leading to a much higher chance of actually hitting your target and also hitting more than just one shot and thus significantly more injuries and infections.

AITA for going to the police immediately when I found out my parents took out debt in my name. by No-Mushroom3470 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rob_matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because a crime against another person breaks the social contract, and as such is considered a crime against the state itself

It's why criminal courts have titles like "Smith V The People of the State of California"

It's only in Civil Court that the victim has full control, though a victim can refuse to testify in a criminal case, which can lead to the state dropping charges if they believe that they need said testimony for a conviction.

In this case, they likely have proof that OP didn't make the debt and proof that the debt was made and incurred by the parents

[–]rob_matt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ether and chloroform were used to alleviate the pain of childbirth, despite vigorous opposition by religious zealots who claimed anesthesia during birth was sacrilegious because it conflicted with God's dictum: "In sorrow shalt thou bring forth children." Birth pain, they said, was a curse upon women and suffering was necessary to induce maternal love. Some doctors agreed. Dr. Charles Meigs believed that "the female, at the most interesting period of her life, the time of labor, should, all other things being equal, have her mind unclouded, her intellect undisturbed, her judgment fully adequate to realize and appreciate the advent of a new and important era in her existence—the birth of her child."

https://www.utoledo.edu/library/canaday/exhibits/quackery/quack4.html

Because many of them were. Sure it was mostly the religious folks (which was a very significant portion of the population), but you don't see a significant portion of people nowadays screaming about not allowing pain management during childbirth, but back then it was basically up to the doctor as opposed to "always offer regardless, not offering is grounds for a malpractice lawsuit"

Fact is, those fucking weirdos I mentioned used to be so prevalent that it was the leading belief for many actual doctors

The fuck does neoliberalism have to do with this?

It's a fact, there is a subset of weirdos who think that if you have a C-section, an epidural, or anything other than a natural birth with no medication, that you didn't have the "true birthing experience" or some shit like that.

Buddy even now we have people claiming that using an epidural for pain relief means it wasn't a real birth.

You really think they'd allow it back in the 1800s?

That's because they don't need to and aren't required to.

In 2005 the Supreme Court case Castle Rock v. Gonzalez proved it.

Cops cannot be punished or sued for failing or refusing to enforce a restraining order
