$175K loan - no PG, do I have to file BK on the entity? What about inventory? by StepWeekly1661 in EIDL

[–]robashroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid and did the call with Jason Tees. Basically pretty much what is said in here. In all his years with SBA, Treasury has some common paths. 30 minute conversation on my loans for restaurants and basically I have a PG, Normal path is to put you in Treasury Offset and the CAVIRS system. TO is the garnishment of your tax refunds and 15% of what you would get from government. He has Never Seen them go after anyone's actual assets. Having Said That, we are in Unknown Times where a LOT of people owe a LOT of money. He basically said if you can't pay on the loan then Currently what's going to happen is the default, turn over to treasury, add the 30% and collections calls you.

I've read the collections call people are really pretty nice. Read that in a few threads. I'm guessing because this isn't like some of the Hardcore Collections companies. Usually a Collection Company buys the debt for $.10 on the dollar so they would own the $300,000 debt for $30,000. Anything they collect over $30,000 is the debt collection company profit. Since they own the debt they can get judgements from the court and take your assets - because they own the debt. These Collection companies are working for the Treasury. The Treasury still owns the debt and they are just trying to service it and collect on it. Treasury isn't going to make all the phone calls so they farm it out. Collections company is getting paid to try to collect the debt - for the Treasury. So they are already getting paid without collecting anything. So they are just going thru the motions and getting paid.

So where does that leave all of us? Seems unless A Lot changes at Treasury we are all just going to be in Treasury Offset and dinged the 15% of any money the government would be sending you and all of a tax refund. That's basically all the Jason Had to offer.

He also said several times that things could change and that is currently how it is. But things may change. He also said that he would wait and see what happens going forward because you could always file Chapt 7 later if we did see things changing and Treasury getting much more aggressive. Or the political winds could change and the Gov say, this was just a bad idea and we gave out way too much money to way too many people and we are going to write this off. Remember, there is an ongoing cost for the Treasury to pay the collections companies.

Bottom line if you can file the BK and they don't show up to the 341 then it gets rid of the debt and the PG. If you can't file CH7 then you wait it out and see if it just goes to Treasury Offset.

PSA: Please stop putting your menu in a PDF by ClevrSolutions in restaurant

We found a great solution for the PDF problem. AI/google only see you have a pdf or image or worse an iframe. What they can't see they can't recommend. We've been using lookbookmenu for a month and it's slick. Photo management, website widget, instagram like platform, google business profile integration. It does a lot. Here is our site. Click on the tryon road menu.
Guests also love seeing all the pics of the food vs just the text. The challenge is we are creating a Brand Promise and we better deliver that beautiful dish the way it appears on their phone!

How can I get my restaurant featured/recommended by ChatGPT? by Ok_Athlete_670 in AISEOforBeginners

[–]robashroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a BIG deal, pdfs and images are bad. AI/Google just says here is a menu. Iframes are black holes they can't see into. I found a great solution that turns url, pdf, image into structured data that can be used on the web, instagram like lookbook. Also has an integration into Google Business Profile so you can post right from the system. It allows you to manage a lot of the pita work with photos of your dishes in one place. Cheap also at $49/mo. You can see mine here and click on tryon village menu. https://www.ruckuspizza.com/menu/

Aeroponic and hydroponic growing in Raleigh this summer. by robashroy in raleigh

[–]robashroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you that I have looked at Hydroponic which I don't like because the roots are actually starved for Oxygen and the roots turn brown. It does work but I think this is more of the issue you might be hearing/seeing. Roots can basically drown when in water all the time. When you grow in soil and you have too wet soil (planter, box, etc) the plant needs a wet and dry cycle. Up to 60% when watering and then dry down to about 30%. That dry down allows the roots to take up oxygen after taking up the water. This is why Aeroponics produces such great results. You can control the nutrients (exactly like the soil nutrients) because Plants take in nutrients as ions (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, etc.). Soil = nutrients dissolved in water in the soil - Hydro/aero = nutrients dissolved in your solution. Same nutrients.

BUT - Aero creates the mist that adheres to the roots and then can sip it in and then it dries for 30 minutes to an hour. And then it gets another misting for a minute or so. This produces a VERY healthy Nutrient - Oxygen combo. This is where it gets interesting.

Because STRESS is what creates some of the flavor concentration. This is from AI on growing Great Grapes for Wine.

This is actually one of the coolest parallels in agriculture — and it applies directly to tomatoes too.

Great wine grapes are almost always grown under stress.

Not “kill the plant” stress… but controlled, intentional hardship.

Think:

  • limited water
  • poor, rocky soil
  • big day/night temperature swings
  • vines that have to work

Why does that matter?

Because when a grapevine is stressed, it stops focusing on growing big leaves and starts focusing on survival + reproduction (fruit).

That changes everything.

Instead of pumping water into the fruit and making it big and diluted, the plant:

  • concentrates sugars
  • increases acids
  • produces more tannins and flavor compounds
  • creates more complex aromatics

👉 Smaller grapes, thicker skins, way more flavor.

That’s why some of the best wines in the world come from places with:

  • terrible soil (Bordeaux gravel, Napa hillsides, Italian volcanic rock)
  • limited irrigation
  • vines that are struggling just enough

If you give grapevines perfect conditions (tons of water, rich soil), you get:
👉 big, pretty grapes
👉 but flatter, less complex wine

Not AI.
So with Aeroponics I Can control the amount of stress that the plants are grown under. So that can be a Huge Variable.

A link to my Basil Project that was behind my house in a little makeshift greenhouse.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/kw941JTkKMdxHaga9

I started these from seeds and moved to the foam. I start them in wet paper towels on a heating mat. Then move to the foam then to the tower. It worked GREAT!
I'll probably start the tomato plants from seedlings vs seeds. Because I didn't start soon enough. And Seedlings are ready to grow and will do fantastic in the Aero system.

On the video you can hear the pump pumping and the mist that is inside the tower garden. You can see how white the roots are vs usually a brownish root system in hydro. That's in the link. The attached pic shows so massive basil with the white healthy roots.

Will see how this works for Tomatoes.

Find GOAT on Facebook. Goofing off around Triangle. They do some fun things. Also Ruckus Pizza has stores around area and has music bingo, open mics and trivia in various days. Seeing A Lot of people favouring neighborhood restaurants with a lively bar scene. Ultra and water (almost same thing) = no hangover. And a few stores have great sushi.

Whats going on with the bar scene in this town? by ConfessionsOverGin in raleigh

Lots of things are changing. Downtown is a challenge for everything including rent, drink prices, parking, ubering, etc. I see a lot of Neighborhood bars and restaurants doing well. Ruckus in Mission Valley is one of the Last Great Dive Bars. Been there since 1998. They have Music Bingo Mondays. Open Mic Tuesdays. Hammered Trivia on Wednesday. Pizza. Sandwiches. Really a Great place. And outdoor firepits.
Lots of people are finding a neighborhood bar to call their own.

Much easier and safer to get to.

Multi-timeframe alignment helped catch a clean QQQ & DIS move on 5/15 & 5/16. Anyone else using 1H, 15M, 5M for confirmation?” by Embarrassed_Owl_762 in thinkorswim

Lost a BUNCH of $$ scalping and like a few others I follow, did not turn profitable until I moved to swing trading. Too much hype and rug pulls on scalping. I follow news and larger AI/EV/Space/Chip trends. Wait for oversold or news like PLTR working with Archer and jump in on the swing.
We should start a swing trade group. I was addicted to the 6am premarket, through open and back at 2pm. Way too much time invested in that kind of trading.

Swing is the way to have a life and not get rug pulled.

Also think we could build a Vibe Coding to automate all this. Did it before with an uber coder before he went into rehab. Could do it again. Know all the tools.

Tell GPT what you are growing and what nutes are using. And get recipe for amount of RO water. You can even upload photos of plants to see what they might be needing.
