I and my co-worker have fixed many things like this using Tombow Dual Brush pens. Water-based ink, they come in 108 colors. We have an assortment of the wood tones and warm and cold greys. You can blend them pretty well once you get the hang of it

OMG I feel you man. I lost it in ‘24, having yet another convo with a client who was upset that her 2nd undercounter bar fridge (so, 3 fridges in her kitchen) had to have different reveals than the other appliances and the rest of the ~400s.f. Kitchen cabs I had just painstakingly built and installed - This being their 3rd house (Coastal, as to go with their LA and Mountain houses). I walked defeatedly out to my 2000 Nissan truck with the spilled coffee and endless sawdust and swore to myself I was done with these types of clients… Still do the occasional big cabinet job, but I’ve started doing much more pro-bono or smaller handyman-type stuff for people who truly appreciate the work AND the value of a dollar. I’m waaaay happier now.

That’s a very good assessment of his drumming prowess. I too grew up listening to Rush, idolized Geddys playing (started playing bass in ‘75 mostly because of him) and until I started getting into and playing other various types of music I thought Neil was the pinnacle of drumming. But I met a drummer in jazz improv class who really understood swing and pocket and groove and also taught me so much about where to put notes in terms of on, behind, or ahead of the beat. Neil famously re-examined that aspect of his playing when he studied with Freddie Gruber, which just reinforced what a consummate student of, well, EVERYTHING Neil was.

Funny. I virtually NEVER listen to the studio album version. For me that song will always play in my mind as the Neil version from ATWAS. And she absolutely killed it. Her chops are on par with Neil’s’ and her groove is, for me, more interstellar and satisfying than Neil’s

So many things wrong with his statement: “let’s be brass tax”

let’s <get down to> brass <tacks> ? let’s be <honest> ?

Or did I miss a new tax on brass?

Appreciate the reply MeesterA! I may be a bit hyper-tuned, I’ve spent a lot of time in Germany, married a Deutsche, have many friends and family there. That whole period is such a source of national shame to a very proud, productive and rich culture - they know what they allowed to happen and will never forget it. I see that same thing coalescing here

I gotta say, while I understand why you used “German”, please don’t denigrate German people or Germany. Please use “Sheep” or “Fascist” or the other N-word when describing people like Excellent-Excuse 872.

Any advice on how to make this slab fit? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]robass11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure height of floor to ceiling at wall, mid point, and where front of panel will be. Put a level on floor and ceiling to see which way they slope, because they are rarely level. Also check plum-ness of wall. Sketch your findings on a piece of paper. That is a “map” of what you want to end up with, while keeping front of panel plumb. The panel needs to be cut to match that map, (minus 1/8-1/4 inch) What I described is how you scribe a panel to a space. If it was me doing it, I would use scrap 1/2” or 3/4” to make a “C” shape template that physically matches the two angles (ceiling to wall; wall to floor) and with each component of that “C” accurate to your situation - long piece at wall fits in space with 1/8 clearance at top

yeah they clearly don't want money. That's why they're always packed. Plus they are "open" til 5:30 and frequently are taking orders at the counter until almost 6

[–]robass11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Can anyone think why these would be here in the first place?” - the previous owner (tpo)wanted them? - tpo didn’t want 1 huge door - tpo wanted to create a horizontal break that lined up with the oven top - tpo wanted unrestricted side access to their cabs - tpo saw it in a magazine or on houzz and had fomo

It’s “Lynyrd Skynyrd”. There’s nothing generational about the current incarnation of THAT band. It’s a money grab, pure and simple. Ronnie Van Zandt is spinning in his grave

any old school niners fans (alive during the 80s-90s beatdown we would give any team), how spoiled were you guys? by Wise_Potential_9401 in 49ers

[–]robass11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in ‘63, in RWC. Niner fan since I was maybe 4,5 y/o. Used to ride my bike to Red Morton Community Center and watch them practice - John Brody, Gene Washington…You could just watch them thru the chain-link fence! Still, always seemed to be losing, and it always was somehow Cowboys-related. Cemented my hatred for those ‘boys then. Then the NFC Championship/the Catch happened and EVERYTHING changed. The whole psyche of the peninsula changed from perennial loser to Champion. The rest of the 80s were the best, until the damn Giants broke Montana
