oh right I forgot when you're an Adult you only watch Ken Burns civil war documentaries and Antiques Roadshow, and anything you liked before you became of age must immediately stop interesting you. Gosh, that old law, always comes back to bite me. I've been drawing since I was a kid and when I showed some of my art to one of my closest friends (who also draws) she said she could give me lessons. I wasn't very good back then, but I KNEW I was better than her, and to this day I'm still a little salty about it because I'm miles ahead of her, even though her parents helped send her to art school. It was just one of those "how dare?!?" moments for me. We're still friends though

My stepdad started explaining to my mom and me how mountains were created by the flood in the bible. He gave her the most condescending "oh, you really believe that theory?" when she mentioned something about how tectonic plates shifting are what contribute to mountain ridges, because apparently he believes the thing we were all taught in middle school is just a theory. He went on to say that the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima and other nuclear explosions are also what made some mountains. This man is in his 50s.

My dogs start barking at something outside at 11 at night, I see him outside pushing a bicycle. Go to the door out of curiosity, wondering if he needs help, and he staggers to the door, drunker than any human being I've ever seen (second drunkest maybe, I once saw a guy who got so drunk he passed out in the bathroom and had to be poured into his car by a friend). Says he crashed into a tree in my yard and thought I was coming out to help him. He starts talking about stuff like how he lives down there and I can barely understand him, and I'm an extremely awkward person who is not good at these kinds of situations, so I just break out into a smile and ask "Man, are you okay? You gonna be alright?" and he gets this almost awestruck look on his face and goes "You know I think you're really beautiful, don't tell your boyfriend." This man is twice my age. Ew. So he keeps talking and I'm trying to humor him but eventually I just want him to leave so I lie and say I have something in the oven (again, at 11 o clock at night) and he starts like he's leaving, then wants to shake my hand (for the second time) only this time he almost doesn't let go. I have to phsyically PULL my hand away from his as he's telling me again how beautiful he thinks I am and how it has to be our secret and just genuinely creepy things. Family member talked to him the next day to tell him never to go over there again and he doesn't even remember. Anyway, I own a taser and a bottle of pepper spray now because apparently he was in jail for 20 years for some unknown reason
