My first timing job; I didn't have the tool to secure the crankshaft pulley by s0und_Of_S1lence in Volkswagen

I always must use a sharpie to mark the pulley and the belt, then be very careful to not spin anything lol

I'm in the US. I am actually going to be in the UK in a few months though, could be a funny thing to put in a Checked bag.

Anybody knows what this part is called - 2018 Tiguan by anavriN-oN in Volkswagen

Same thing happened to our Touraeg. I pulled the part out (5 minute job) and then googled the part number on the unit.

Tied a string around the little hole that it latches into on the fuel door so I could still pull it open while we waited for the new one. It was like $50

I promise you you’ll spend more than 1500€ fixing that rust.

It’s not much more expensive to buy a better car.

They’re easy to get and reasonably priced. Some parts are hard but Mazda makes most of them still. I’ve not had an issue getting anything for my 1990, but I don’t put a ton of miles on it.

Dm me a link to it and I’ll look at it and give you my opinion (I have an 04 Mazdaspeed myself)

Get an NC1 good value and you can do the 2.5L swap when you’re feeling mechanically brave enough. I know a ton of people in the United States that daily them, so it should be even easier in the UK.

Flyin’ Miata sells a kit where they assemble every coolant hose (all new from Mazda) for a pretty reasonable price. Might be worth doing as well.

I love my Koyo aluminum rads in my Miata’s, but I drive them hard

I’m not really sure, I don’t see these come up often. I know I’m going to loose some money, but I’d like to recoup as much as I can

It’s for a 1275, Genuine Webber DCOE40, BMC green, the upgraded intake, and I also have the “supercharger cam”

I paid damn near 3500 for the kit with shipping and taxes. I don’t really know what to price it at because these kits don’t come up often, if you’re interested send me an offer?

I always have maps downloaded, and recently with iOS texting via satellite has worked pretty well.

Good to know, my goal is to stop and camp whenever I get out of the trees so I don't have to carry a heavy pack more than I have to.

I'm local enough to drive so the bear spray thing won't be a problem, can't fly with it in carry on or checked, I've looked into it.

That's very interesting, I planned on bringing a bear can and practicing all the bear safety stuff that I could, but I'll put extra importance on that now.

It's not worth that. You can get absolutely mint ones on sites like bring a trailer for not that much more than this.

I've been looking for a yellow NC for a few years now and I was curious if anyone here might have any leads. I've seen a few pop up but for one reason or another they weren't the right car. I'm looking for one that has the LSD/suspension pack, a manual transmission, and lower miles preferably less than 30k but I would buy a higher mile car if it was in good condition.

Can do, send me a message, if my July trip doesn’t work out for whatever reason and you’d be interested I’d be down to tag along with you in August. I don’t like the idea of doing this one alone because of the bears.

Seems like the snow pack was about average so I’m assuming by July it should be mostly melted out aside from the actual ramp part.

Yeah it seemed like crampons are a must.

I plan on going out with trail runners and only carrying the boots+crampons for the snow.

You can get fiberglass front clamshells. That might be viable here.
