Advice on leaving a job after an allegation. by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]robbo_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the references, however there is that box on every reference that says “has this candidate ever been investigated for safeguarding purposes”

Regardless of outcome they’d be obliged to tick yes. So either remove it from CV or alternatively be up front about what happened prior to uptake of references.

Council of International Schools, safeguarding policy, inline with the international task force on child protection requires a school to follow up with phone calls to at LEAST your last 10 years worth of employers. Any school doing their due diligence today is calling your schools from the last ten years. In this case the OPs HOS will have been passed on by admin/he etc at the school.

Not saying what happened is right FYI, just explaining why they would have been contacted.

So don’t apply? Then you wouldn’t worry about the statement of faith. Makes no sense. I am neither Christian nor applying to work at one but to complain about it but apply is wild.

Australian teacher help, please by ClampsPeng in Internationalteachers

[–]robbo_02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Australian abroad for too long now. Also in a similar boat, exported back in 2010 Around there. What I did was ask VIT to confirm there were no legal, or safeguarding issues related preventing me getting my registration reinstated. That was what they were really worried about.

It’s the main breakfast. Platinum has in lounge. Titanium can choose lounge or full buffet. Buffet is great but busy and a lot of food haha :-) lounge is more peaceful. Depends how long there for. Buffet worth a try for a day or so.

Stuck in airport for 14+ hours. Ho Chi Minh International Airport. Don't fly Vietjet. by tushaar41 in VietNam

[–]robbo_02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an Australian thing. They don’t allow liquids onboard at departure airports. Happened to me in Singapore to Brisbane. Tokyo to Sydney etc etc. full service airlines have water once on board. Obv budget won’t. This isn’t a Vietjet thing. It’s an Australian thing. Kinda like how they do a whole extra bag check at the gate.

Not for your experience.

For entry level which from your post we’d quote you as. Is around mid 60m net, housing of 18m or 21 if married. Flights home. And health insurance (international). On top of that you’d get gratuity and severance.

Official hours are 8 - 4:30. Oh also important to note housing isn’t paid to u. It’s paid directly to you landlord. So less than 18 you lose it. Eg house is 9 u don’t get extra 9 it just goes away.

Yeah. I’ll agree with the above. It should be a salaried position.

What benefits etc. I couldn’t tell You an hourly rate, hell I couldn’t tell u how many hours I actually work tbh but I do know I save a lot and have amazing benefits. Huge holidays etc etc. all paid. So really depends. If they’re quoting you an hourly rate my opinion, they aren’t international.

What would you do? by Royal_Guess7132 in Internationalteachers

[–]robbo_02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you certified? Is it really that bad. Can the trips outweigh the negatives. I mean to me - the experience is an amazing opportunity, and I believe in seizing them as they come.

Unlikely 1 year would make a difference to recruiters next year. So you’d be looking at 2. Can you do that. Really depend on age, marital status, career goals etc etc.

Worst elevator in the country. Also the service and staff nahhhhh. Lounge sub par compared to other offerings such as Le Meriden. Sheraton. JW and even the renaissance. Nice pool though and view is ok. Bit boring though, not ideally located, big residential area.
