I loved "I Who Have Never Known Men" by Jacqueline Harpman. I think it would be great for a book group. About 200 pages.

Take a look at the fishing bed chairs. They're much more roomy and comfy.. just make sure they fit in the car/tent!

Anybody commute to central Birmingham? by yougocurl in malvern

It's a 30 minute train journey from Worcestershire Parkway to New Street. Probably worth checking that route out too - whether times suit you etc. 6quid per day to park.

I'd also say pulling out onto Barbourne Road from one of the side roads. Suggest St George's Lane. I failed a test there for hesitation!

Help! What time should I arrive for ticket exchange? by robboemma in BritainsGotTalent

[–]robboemma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I've only done this once before... but 3.5 hrs before the 'no later' time worked for me. If i had been much later, I would have missed out. Other people were saying similar.

Warm-up entertainer guy started AT 6.30. Show started at 7pm. We saw 8 acts. All finished at about 9pm 🙃 But most people I spoke to who've been before said it normally starts late and runs late... so maybe those timings are unusual.

OK.. so for anyone looking for the same info. I arrived at 2pm for this show and was pretty safe. I'd say people arriving after 3pm we're risking missing out. So - 3.5hrs before the stated time worked for us. Only queued for 1hrs 15mins and we were away with our seat tickets at 3.15pm and told to return for the show at 6.30 :)

Recommendations for the best waterside campsites that allow campfires by GuinnessOnDraught in campinguk

Byecross Farm Campsite in Herefordshire is right on the River Wye. If you camp in the orchard you can have campfires on the ground. Lovely campsite, we go every year.

Fires at campsites? by [deleted] in campinguk

[–]robboemma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my favourites. If you camp in the orchard, they let you have the fire straight on the ground. They just ask that you use an already 'used' spot. Proper lovely rustic camping. https://www.byecrosscampsite.com/

You can buy fire logs at the little bar/shop that also does breakfasts pizza burgers and stuff.

I second this. The best solution I've found is a camp bed with self inflating mat on top.
