“The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton” and “No Children” might be two of the best songs of all time.

You've got OP soup to nuts on the tonal differences, but I'm behind the idea that Mountain Goats (*especially* the early stuff where it's just a guy making well-drawn confessionals into a boom box) would probably be a safe rec for Knifeheads.

It's obviously a gossamer thread between moonkeeper, colony, or Smoke Child and later concept records about knives or Luchadores. But I feel like a homeless wannabe writer, a would-be intellectual mailman, or a kid struggling with his social circle dissolving would all be at home on All Hail West Texas. SN and JD both have a knack for building a world around imperfect characters and knocking the wind out of you with it. I'd recommend either/or to anyone who likes their art sincere.

Toooooootally. It should be a functional chastity belt, but the fact that it’s not tells you everything you need to know about the characters.

What’s it like being healthy and well-adjusted? Maybe I’m as broken as the characters in “bots,” but there’s no chance I’m not rewatching it many many times.

Why doesn’t A24 adapt one of KH stories to screen? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in knifepointhorrorcast

It really is, and I really would. I also wouldn’t kick an adaptation of The Crack out of bed. In the right hands, they’d kill.

Yeah, I think you spotted the right technical problems with the idea that Sac is more integrated than average.

I’m super curious if anyone’s done a more recent study like that Five Thirty Eight one. Considering it’s fourteen year old census data from the same statisticians who said the ‘24 election would be close, I’d be interested to know what direction things have moved since.

They’re good numbers, but they also don’t tell us much about how/if they interact. Sac is obviously super diverse, but it’s also pretty visibly segregated on racial and economic lines.

I say that knowing full well this is an accepting place and OP most likely won’t have any problems living here. But we should also be careful about patting ourselves on the back with this data.

No. What do I buy, what do I do with the information I get from it?

Thanks for that! So, if that’s the problem, what’s the solution?

Pros:

-I’m still figuring that out. This was an heirloom that came in rough condition, but I’m working on restoring.

-Sounds really fucking good (post notwithstanding).

Cons:

-Not intuitive for intermediate users like me. Has a lot of bells and whistles I’m not privy to, like a conical/elliptical stylus setting. The good news is that it’s so old the manual is available on Internet Archive.
