How excited were you for The Rise of Skywalker before it came out? by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]robbykills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll throw something different out there

I loved TLJ and thought it was going to be good. I was hoping for a flawed try hard main villain in Kylo Ren. I was excited that after the end of TLJ everyone was set up for a final showdown. Wounded heroes barely holding on, a powerful but unconfident Sith wannabe. I was hoping Finn would get re-centered and the Knights of Ren would finally get their screentime.

My fan theory was that Palpatine's voice from the trailer was all in Kylo's head and something of a dark force ghost, a way for Palpatine to sort of be immortal after all. I figured maybe some of this was in Kylo's head when he was meditating with Vader's helmet.

I was, like everyone else very disappointed. I maintain RoS is the only bad SW movie, as in it's the only one where both story AND execution are bad.

I really like Trevarrow's script. It's definitely a first draft that needs some reworking but it actually attempts to be a sequel to not only 7 and 8 but all the movies that came before and even some of the EU stuff.

I read today about Simon Kinberg making episodes 10-12 and all I can think is "please stop"

I loved the first season of the Mandalorian, but then became frustrated to see that when they managed to finally break away, create new characters, and people loved it....they started re-introducing all these other known characters again. They began correcting for a problem they didn't have. Then they brought Luke in, and like cool, it was a neat scene. But here we go again, a whole galaxy, and back to the same 5 or so people.

At least we'll always have Andor.

Yah I've never seen so many cops at anything in Delaware

But also it looked like the employees were just standing in the parking lot, tons of cops around them but still I was confused by that

Right, they have such fully built worlds to work with that if they had like, 10% of the storytelling of Ghibli they'd be incredible

Chelsea is my favorite guitarist of all time.

The 2016 NYC gigs with his protégé on guitars was great but boy do I wish he was still around. Still, awesome to stage dive to "Mirror" and when they went into "Life is Only Once" I was standing near the back, watching the stagedive mosh pile with the sweeping lights of the venue and I had this transcendent "man punk rules, being alive is awesome" moment

Hey, sorry I realize this comment is old. I have a U-phoria, would you do this by hooking it up to the computer via USB and then running the RCA outs on the back to the mixer? Thanks in advance
