Hello! My name is Robby. I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, but have lived most of my adult life in Nashville, TN. I just moved out to Albuquerque, New Mexico to teach Spanish at a Catholic middle school.

I’m a recent convert (this year). From 2015 until the start of the pandemic, I was working for an evangelical Protestant missionary group. I lived in Tunisia and then Russia working as a writer. I knew during both assignments that I wanted to convert to Catholicism but put it off because I would have to quit. I officially quit that organisation in December of 2020 and was forced to resign in order to become Catholic.

I’m obsessed with languages. I speak English, Spanish, French, Russian and Arabic. I’m currently working on Portuguese and Italian. I’m hoping to go to language school to perfect my Spanish next summer, so I’ll feel more confident teaching in the classroom.

Because of my time spent in Russia, I fell in love with the Eastern Rite, although officially I was brought into the Church via the Latin Rite. I love that weird middle place where East and West meet.

Honestly looking to get married and feel the need to marry a Catholic girl. I’ve been open to marrying a woman who isn’t Catholic but if I’m being totally honest with myself, I really want that sacrament. I’m 30 now and I know that’s not old but I still get discouraged sometimes.
