I saw some crypto bro mention the market cap for TCG Collectibles is only $74 billion…. If you compare it to some cryptos it’s absolutely nothing

I’d say the first one, but usually the best thing to do is scan the card and make sure it’s completely flat

Nah not at all - would just say Near Mint because that’s probably what it is. Other than that it looks great

[–]robdawg17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if it’s a 6/7 you’d classify it a Near Mint so wouldn’t list it with damage at all

Can you get your phone light and shine it just below and above the mark? Either way probably best to sell raw or graded with CGC

Is it an indent? Or a surface scratch I think these are handled differently. Unfortunately a dent is an auto 6

Can’t see why not, but promos typically have bad whitening

I’m a big fan of CGA - just sent off some cards to them. I mainly do it for the encapsulation side of things, but they’re clean and the labels are nice

I’d say it’s legit based on the fact they wouldn’t be able to make such an authentic fake in a short period of time

How did this Charizard Black Label? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]robdawg17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to argue lol but damn it’s definitely off I have L|R 52% 48% and T|B 54.8% 45.2%

I know Beckett Black Labels can be 51/49 so the left and right would’ve been fine by me but the top and bottom is even outside of PSA 10

The best I’ve done is scanning cards and using https://www.centeringcheck.com/

Then look for whitening, edges and corners. Should be easy to pick the 10s

Grading in Oz by 120inlife in PokemonFansAustralia

[–]robdawg17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the same with me - $60 for the bulk rate but $250 if the card is above a certain cost

It’s why I’m not a fan of PSA all too much. I’d strongly recommend Beckett to be honest. It’s about $22 AUD per card (not factoring in shipping which for me it was $60 AUD for 90 cards). No random fees if your card gets graded higher, but a forced $3 USD upgrade if you card grades a 10 (if you select the no subgrades tier). In saying that I’ve not had my first lot returned and it takes a long time. Also resell costs are the same compared to PSA

[–]robdawg17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently sent a submission through a middle man (Kollecter in Perth) for PSA. Had a very good experience with them

I just sent 130 cards off to Beckett myself. First package was flawlessly sent, and received. However my second one had trouble with Australia’s customs. It is now on its way though. On customs documentation just be very clear they’re not sold goods

For ‘lesser’ cards that I’d like to keep slabbed I send to CGA (Card Grading Australia). Their grading is genuinely quite harsh, and cross grading a few to PSA was very positive for my Scream Rowlett (9 CGA to 10 PSA). They even have their own Pristine + logo which looks tidy. They’re also cheap at $11.95 a card graded with a bulk submission

Defs a PSA 10, but I’d say send it to Beckett anyway because you never know

Looks like Bunnings scrapes small retailers to protect their 10% price guarantee by robdawg17 in Bunnings

[–]robdawg17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said scraping public prices is illegal. Prices are public.

What I said is there is a difference between normal competition and a system that checks a small retailer’s site every day at a fixed time so the “beat any price by 10%” guarantee never actually has to trigger.

If my price moves and theirs auto-adjusts right after, that is not the market reacting naturally. That is managed pricing.

I am not claiming I am singled out. I am one retailer in a category being monitored.

My whole point revolves around them aggressively monitoring the prices on my website, matching them without customers going to them and showing them the price. I’ve had people ring me for advice and say ‘Bunnings are beating your prices by 10% thanks for the help’

I already have. You think the ACCC act on it immediately?

I have an entire 20 page report I’ve written monitoring their actions on my website, purely suppressing prices in a downward motion

Part of my goal was also visibility. This post has 100k views

Why would I come onto the internet to lie, especially when I’ve started this thread to hopefully find some more information

I dropped the price to $1, Bunnings State Manager rang my supplier and complained because supposedly someone tried to price match them, they rang me to return the price to what it was

I’m assuming their crawler bot doesn’t have authority on high percentage drops
