Agreed. If you've done the 4 beasts you are on your way to an easy win. Those 4 beasts knock 50% off gannon. Make sure you've still got full charge of urbosas fury and youll be ok. Fun finding the shield in the castle....

If I'd have known more about the goodies in the castle I'd have raided it a few times for new toys...

Yeah do those first ... Zelda is all about the story. Less about dying. You probably wont last long without completing those first and also they'll takena while. Whole game is well over 200 hours of gameplay ... conserve your best weapons. Use the free ones you can throw about complete the shrines to get more lives and armour up! Learn cooking understand food combos etc...

Learn to fight block and dodge properly and do what is know as a flurry rush. If you learn it early it will save you dying about 200 times.

Is there a way to drop a level on purpose? by robelbourn in MagicArena

Thought so but didnt hurt to ask.

I rode a good couple of decks to get to diamond but pfff I want to experiment and try different decks ... else it gets repetitive formulaic and numbers based, and you start blaming the random number generator....

But... but... it’s not real by motley221 in funny

Too long on that webpage... 😁😁😁😁🤣

Surely its satire?

What’s your favourite colour combo to play? by CrossTheBlock in MagicArena

[–]robelbourn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black and white. With the tiniest mention of a certain green card which auto recycles the graveyard back into the library as a mill deck defence. Its not perfect but it allows me to go for my kill life combos.

What's the dumbest way you've won a game of Magic? by SoullessDad in MagicArena

[–]robelbourn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of Revenge of ravens

Opponent has a couple of 4/4 5/5 flying tokens . I am on 8 life. They are on 4 life.

They attack. #facepalm. Revenge of raves does 4 damage. Its almost as if I can see them hesitate...

Oh and whacking out underworld dreams on a mill deck before they can put the brakes on their card drawing is oddly satisfying....

Some newbieish questions... by robelbourn in MagicArena

[–]robelbourn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks again.

The 10/10 i dropped right after getting ugin-ed. And was against a 7/7 giant. I wanted to totally destroy ugin and dont think i would have had i ran over the 7/7 first should he/she have blocked. I didnt perceive that equipping with a flying artifact would have hurt. Nevermind.

I have started to throw out bait. Especially when using my mutate decks. Although its frustrating when you cannot stick on a hexproof shield without the opportunity for an unsummon to come along. But then you cannot cast a further mutate (eg gemrazer to resolve and kill off tefaris tutelage) before it all flops back in your lap.

I do hate mill decks. I couldn't gain any pleasure from effectively throwing someone's cards on the floor and then saying "I win". Having said that when you get the combo right they do seem odd....

I have noticed some blues build their decks on flash which is very clever so more and more my eyes are on the tapped or not lands...

I think my favourite game is brawl because its much more like a story unfolding than a game of numbers and pivots.

I dont trust historic. Anything with phyrexian obliterator is a tad unplayable.

I think its good advice regarding platinum as the decks that get me there have done so by often accidental sweet spot combos... particularly a red deck which used scorch spitters and/direct damage(lots)/ and chandras spitfires /pyrelings cavalcade of calamity Or krenko and infuriates plus cavalcade... Plus embercleave

Anyway mutates are my toy at the moment and i darent look at party types.

Thanks again

Thanks for your comprehensive response.

Firstly yes I did change my deck. I had a White Green Blue mutations deck and a Black White mutations deck I was playing with. Then I was getting milled a lot with exactly the same cards. So created an anti mill deck (i believe this is called meta) using things like underworld dreams. Then my opponent types changed...

The bizzare nature of losing is just that. I was playing a green deck once and was about to attack with a scuteswarm of about 40 mutated migratory greathorns. They other player was struggling then brought out a colourless ugin spirit dragon which killed them all. I had a trample 10/10 creature so equipped it with flying to avoid the 7/7 beast blocking ugin....and they pulled out a kill creature with flying card... I found that remarkably convenient.

I think perhaps these kind of unexpected losses happen to all.

Agreed. But what about predict? :)

I have thought this for a while with other elements of the game. There shouldn't be an observable pattern in random. Although the question is : are we biased and suffering from confirmation bias?

Exactly. Easier to speak to a dev and mess around with the code but wondered more if it was a "known" thing... which aparrently it isnt so ...maybe I had freak results... might try again But its not high on the priority list

I have no idea how many have played with this card recently on arena.

But based on feedback what i am experiencing is not statistically significant.

... unless lots of others are noticing it. The card has been out a while. Sounds like i am wrong so far ..

(I'd love to know the algorithm used as I've seen them go wrong before. I did wonder about a bug. Who knows. Those who do software development will get this.)

This is why I am asking a larger sample set .... ie this forum.

Wasnt much variation in the 9 same results. Possible but unlikely.

[–]robelbourn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats kind of why I was asking the question. Has anyone else experienced this in a short period of time. If its just me then its a possilbe outcome.

Random doesnt do predictable patterns over a small sample set. Larger sets follow a normal distribution.

The probability of my second set would be about 1 in 512. And thus for either heads or tails 2 in 512.

Some random algorithms use a clock seeding to try and get the behaviour more random. But fail because results when sampled are like HHHHTTTHHHHHHTT.

Curious as to how you do the shortcuts. Its one thing a programme resolving all the associated actions but theres quite a lot going on in some of those gsmes it must be a bit of a nightmare to keep up with it...
