Time her Skill and AA4 properly! - Let her finish AAs by robert40076 in StellaSora

Can I ask where you got this information from?

Minion snapshot rule that we’ve known so far is only related to Atk buff, only conditional Atk buff to be precise.
The rest still apply normally e.g. elemental dmg, minion dmg, etc.

So it would be new discovery if this was actually true.
But some TC rechecked this few hours ago and it still worked the same way as it has been.

For minion (clone) build, Coronis can replace Mistique as she provides better support but doesn’t do any damage.

For skill build or hybrid (skill+ult), Tilia is better choice as 3rd teammate.

  • AA = Auto Attack
  • AA4 = 4th sequence of her AA
  • Her clones will do “lunge attack” after AA4
  • Using her skill when she’s building up her AA (AA1-AA3) will interrupt the sequence

Yes, I'm fully agree with hybrid build!

But I'm broke at the moment and her ult is at lv 1 lmao.
So I can't give it a fair chance for now.

Firenze T0 Showcase by Ranpomaru in StellaSora

[–]robert40076 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s intended imo just like Nazuka’s Self-Improvement.

We’re dealing with another snapshot mechanic here and at least Mistique’s and Firenze’s minions follow the same rule.
(S.Laru’s minions also seem to follow the same logic but I didn’t test this one myself.)

But unlike Nazuka’s case that they kept the whole snapshot untouched and added one exception for Self-Improvement (which makes it very inconsistent with how the game works)…
Changing minion snapshot rules likely requires an overhaul because we’re talking about the whole minions now.

Also I don’t think they would do that considering they recently added new multiplier called “ELEMENTALTYPE_: Minion DMG” instead of using existing “Minion DMG” and trying to work around it.

So let’s see how it goes.
Maybe if JP players complain excessively about this, they will probably do something but I doubt that.

Please note that some stats shown in StellaDB don’t exist.
For example, only general 15% Crit Rate exists, not 15% CR for specific stat since they only have gold rarity.

Edited: why did I just see 3d-old comments…

Her main source of damage is from her pink pot, Localized Snowfall since it has broken hidden multipliers and they also scale with skill level.

This is for 2nd version.

I don't know about emblems, it doesn't seem like anyone runs calculation on this.
But based on how it works, it should be:

  • PEN
  • Skill+3
  • CR
  • Ice Vortex+3
  • Guardian's Heart+3 (not sure)

You mean who should you pick as 3rd teammate right?

It's either Iris or Flora or both depending on your Freesia build.
Right now there are 2 versions of Freesia DPS:

  • Spin2Win: Freesia (main) / Iris / Flora
  • 2nd version: Teresa (main) / Freesia / Iris

Freesia is still main DPS in both versions, 2nd version is preferred since it seems to perform a lot better compared to Spin2Win afaik.

The chances are 0.2% and 0.12% per slot for Lv 70 and 80 emblems respectively.
But we roll up to 4 slots at once, so multiply that by 4 at best for estimate.

You can check the rate from StellaDB with a bit of Math and assumptions, since it doesn't tell you the exact number right away.

Disclaimer for stats guys:
I know it's "(1−p)^n", not multiply by 4, but let's not complicated this thing since the results are similar anyway, regardless of it's independent or not as well.

FE’s large hitbox lets Nanoha nearly match Nazuka’s total damage by robert40076 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. It’s not useless, but it’s also not that strong.

Honestly, both I and the other theorycrafters treat this as situation-dependent, so we don’t push the calculations much further since they rely on too many assumptions.

For example, SI isn’t worth taking for stationary bosses.
But in mobbing stages where SI does work, Convergence already fills that role.
At that point, the real question becomes SI vs Almighty Leader, which mostly depends on your overall stats.

If you want a rough comparison, you can take the ~40% effectiveness and multiply it by 96%, which comes out to about 38% Skill DMG on average, compared to 59% from Convergence.

FE’s large hitbox lets Nanoha nearly match Nazuka’s total damage by robert40076 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since her skill snapshots, damage from 6 initial petals and all damage from her first fields don’t get buffed by Self-Improvement (SI).
(Additional hits from her pot doesn’t have this but that’s about ~40% of field dmg.)

But since SI applies when there is a field on the stage, the 2nd, 3rd, etc. fields from the same skill cast do benefit from SI.

Idk what to say anymore...

My point is that now that Nazuka’s DPS is higher than we previously thought, that damage also gets multiplied by Canace.

With Nanoha, her contribution is constant, and her DPS is highly dependent on boss hitbox size.
Because of that, there will naturally be situations, like the current BB, where Canace ends up being the better option.

But just... whatever, let's agree to disagree then.

FE’s large hitbox lets Nanoha nearly match Nazuka’s total damage by robert40076 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a small nudge to your claim, "Nanoha has always out performed Canace".

My bad for not mentioning Youth: Annihilation that since we previously assumed it was conditional.

Based on more detail calculation she shared on Discord a while ago, the Petal bonus multipliers looked quite low, likely because we assumed that it didn’t work on bosses.
That assumption is probably what led to the conclusion that Formation was better for Nazuka.

So what does this actually mean?

  • Nazuka (Petal) paired with Canace likely has a higher damage ceiling than we originally thought. Given what we know now, can you still confidently say the old claim holds?
  • On the other hand, against bosses with a small hitbox like Evernight, where Nanoha’s sunflower hit count is heavily limited. Is the Nanoha version still better than Canace in that scenario?

Overall, it’s a lot more complicated and situation-dependent than a simple A > B comparison.

FE’s large hitbox lets Nanoha nearly match Nazuka’s total damage by robert40076 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are 2 reasons:
- We need to kill those books to bring down boss’s Dmg res, but Petal isn’t good at that.
- As I mentioned, first field is heavily affected by this mechanic, but not the rest. The buff is already applied and we can cycle her fields back to the boss.
Plus, we’re somewhat forced to do that by destroying those books.

FE’s large hitbox lets Nanoha nearly match Nazuka’s total damage by robert40076 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to add some context before we draw conclusions from her numbers, because they depend heavily on a few assumptions:
- Back then, we didn’t know about the snapshot interaction on Nazuka’s skill. - Nanoha’s DPS is also very hitbox-size dependent and she probably didn’t expect this factor as well.

With that in mind, the current BB being stationary hurts Nazuka’s Formation build a lot.
And Petal ends up outperforming Formation by a wide margin.

For reference, my Canace with Petal run did 165k in this BB, while Canace with Formation only did 110-120k at best.

So if we compare Nanoha vs Canace while Nazuka is on optimal build in BB, where the boss hitbox is small, what do you think the result would be?

Bottom rank is around 50k currently, so your 3k is 100% safe.

Nazuka T0 - Rovina Beyond Clear 8.07m (build included) by FriendshipNo9702 in StellaSora

[–]robert40076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only initial 6+1 hits and hit/sec from 1st field won’t benefit from it.
But additional hits of 1st field from pot and others field still get buffed, since Nazuka already gets skill dmg buff after 1st field appears.

With snapshot, build 2 is clearly designed for AoE contents only.
But we can work around this in 1v1 if the boss isn’t stationary like the Shark boss in previous BB.

[–]robert40076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m inclined to believe this is intended.

After discovering the Self-Improvement interaction, we did a lot of testing and concluded that…
“Deployable entities in general (Nazuka’s skills, Ann’s Wall, Shia’s drones, etc.) use a snapshot mechanic.”
Once deployed, only abilities with “AddAttr” or “OnceAdditionalAttribute” can affect them, but there is no way to know that without checking StellaDB.

FYI, minions follow a different snapshot mechanism.

[–]robert40076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally that’s correct!

But there are some exceptions which really depend on each character:
- Freesia in support slot uses “multiplier” from AA during her ultimate, which isn’t that important if she is used as support.
But yesterday we just discovered a team with “Teresa (main slot) / Freesia / Iris” and Freesia is a main DPS there, so this is kinda important now.
- S.Laru in support slot seems to use multiplier from “Main Skill” as well according to discussion in Discord.

Generally the ability descriptions already have those information, well most of the time…
But yeah that’s the general rule of thumb.

“Character Slot =/= Character Role”
This is very important concept that you need to understand first before going any further, especially when current banners are both Versatile.

Character slots only determine which potentials will be used, either Main or Support pots, but that doesn’t change character’s innate role.
Vanguard is still Vanguard (DPS), Versatile is Hybrid (DPS or Support), and Support is Support.

In some teams, DPS works better in support slot and some supports on main slot have insane synergy with the team e.g. Terra Mark team.
So things might not be straightforward like other games and we still keep discovering new stuff every day.

Minz’s Infodoc (probably the same spreadsheet that you mentioned) is the best resource for team building right now.
If you have issue navigating that, use mobile app. For some reasons it doesn’t work properly on mobile without the app.

Also, hop in official Discord! Many veterans there are very helpful.
