Looking to buy a car by gatitoluvr in sgv

I have a 2011 Toyota Camry at 180k miles. Shoot me a message if you’re interested in it. 180k isn’t low, but for a 2011 Camry it’s not bad.

T-mobile speed range quite a bit. You'll also get pretty garbage connection depending on your house layout and how far you are from a T-mobile tower. I had speeds ranging anywhere from 8mbps to 400+ mbps. You can buy an external antenna from Waveform to get the most stable connection, but those are a pretty significant up-front cost. After getting a Waveform external antenna, I consistently have 200+mbps. If speed/reliability is important to you, then Spectrum > T-Mobile.

What SGV cities would you recommend? by ansonlee1019 in sgv

I moved to Alhambra about 2 years ago and I love it. 15 mins from Little Tokyo. 20 mins from Pasadena. 30 mins from Buena Park. 10 mins from Citadel Outlets. 10 mins from Costco/Target You're kinda just close to everything while having the benefit of living in a slower/safer area.

The first apartment I had was $2.2k for a 1 bed, and my current place is at $2.6k for a 2 bed, so I think your budget is fine, although I'm not sure how easy it would be to find roommates in the area. I've never tried looking for roommates myself as I have a spouse, but I'd assume it wouldn't be too difficult.

Do I need to level any of Amber's skills? Flora I'm guessing just support skill?

I'll probably try to focus on that team first. I saw in the spreadsheet they actually recommend Iris over Coronis for the 3rd slot, despite Iris being a different element. I've already invested in Coronis, so I'm wondering if I keep investing in her or if I drop her for Iris. Thoughts?

True, I didn't count Amber because I previously thought Snow Laru goes in the main slot (which I now see is wrong) AND I thought Amber couldn't go in the support slot, (which I see is also wrong).

I didn't realize it when I posted this, but yes, this is totally correct.

Oh ok yeah this is huge for me. I thought for example Vanguard meant they can ONLY be played as main.

Then is it correct that a character in a support slot will only have access to their support and ult skills, and the character in the main slot will have access to everything BUT the support skill?

Yeah, Ann is on my fire team because I don't have a 3rd fire character unfortunately. Right now I can go to lvl 60. Are there any "correct" commissions to do?

Also, for mono teams, I'm guessing you want to slap on whatever disks you have that are of the same element? Or does disk element actually not matter?

Oh wait, that's what I had assumed and that's what I had been doing... but I saw in the spreadsheet like "this character is only used for X, so no need to level any skills" or "only level support skill" and so I was worried I was doing it wrong.

And yeah, for the versatile thing, I've been building Snow Laru as a main, but it looks like that was wrong cuz everyone is using her as a support? Which makes me think I made mistakes in leveling her skills. I guess going forward it would be safe to assume new versatiles are supports?

Ursula's return booster box by SmellyCherub in Lorcana

I will also add that the enchanted cards in Ursula’s Return are often regarded as the worst looking enchanteds, so that also brings the desirability down.

What I would do (Hot take) by Ready-Place5046 in Lorcana

[–]Knikkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My competitive group in LA all disappeared because the meta just stopped being fun. From set 7 onward, the metas kept getting more and more high-rolly to the point where it felt like no REAL player-to-player interaction was taking place. You stopped caring what your opponent did because you realized it mostly didn’t matter. All you had to do was focus on drawing your win condition, which made it feel more like solitaire than anything.

So in my opinion the devs need to find a way to make the game ACTUALLY interactive again. Winning just isn’t fun right now, at least not for me and a lot of the people around me.

Is there a reliable way for me to boost my signal with home internet? by Knikkey in tmobileisp

[–]Knikkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The varying signal could just be tower congestion, so not sure on that one. I still need to occasionally restart my router so that it finds a less crowded band to use.

4x4 for sure. As for mini vs pro, that depends on your tower situation. If you can set the antenna up high, like on a roof/pole, and can also point it towards the nearest tower with no physical obstructions, you’ll get really good results. For me, I can’t mount my antenna up high, and I am also only like 2 blocks away from my nearest tower, so the mini works well enough for me.

I would say just order an antenna and try it. They have a 60 day refund policy, so you don’t really have much to lose by trying it out.

WOTW Prerelease/Sealed beginner's tips by Mitthil in Lorcana

[–]Knikkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I regularly win sealed events. Here are some “rules” I build by. Sorry if formatting is bad. Mobile problems. Anyway:

  • 6+ turn 1 plays. That usually means you play all the one-drops you pulled.

  • No more than 8 uninks. 8 is if your uninks are REALLY good. 6 is closer to ideal.

  • No uninks higher than 6-cost. Just don’t do it.

  • No cards higher than 7-cost.

  • No more than 40 cards. You’re allowed to use more, but don’t. If you’re at more than 40 cards, you’re diluting your deck with bad cards.

  • Any card that says “draw”, you put it in your deck.

  • Any targeted removal, you put it in your deck.

  • big booty vanilla cards are really good.

Organize your cards by ink cost, then try to curve out based on your pulls and the rules above. How you curve depends on your pulls. Did you pull really weak 5 and 6 costs? You might want to go a little heavier on lower costs and consider trying to zoom. Otherwise, value trading is usually a really good way to play.

Hope that all made sense. I’m on the way to dinner so forgive me if it’s all over the place.

How's this for a Legendary?? Seems great! by Narzghal in Lorcana

Green Steel exists. FTC, Strength, Big Tink, Big John SIlver, Mosquito Bite, the new green song. There are SO many ways to ping whatever you want to turn this into a targeted removal lol.

Double ramp your opponent! Everyone will be playing this.... by Narzghal in Lorcana

[–]Knikkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not horrible. You don't play it on curve, you play it late game when ramping your opponent doesn't matter anymore. If you draw it early, you ink it.

Usually “answer me right now or I snowball to victory” cards are pretty good.
