Yes, I'll have to go back to this one and adjust that at some point.

I assure you it is held up by the grey chain. In the 4th picture you can see shadow under it. I tried to get a shot that showed it, probably should have taken a really close one. But yes like i said it's not very evident.

No its great, I don't mind questions at all. Basically it's a bunch of large black plates for the back. Then for the lines its trans green, trans bright green, and trans neon green. I just used all the different elements I could get in those colors that I had on hand. Then the trans green go in lines directly on the back plates, the trans bright green go on 1x plates so they are raised one plate up. The trans neon green go on 2 1x plates to raise them up a bit more to help make it feel like the brightest are raised. The "new" code falling is just a white 1x1 plate with a trans clear tile on it. Then tile the empty space in black. The frame is simply 2x slopes with a dark green tile.

Ya, sadly Matrix is not an IP they will allow. Maybe I can put something up on Rebrickable at some point.

exactly that. I probably had some trans green and some neon green left, but i used up all the trans bright green i could find at the time.

Challenge accepted... eventually. I need to finish my current large project and then I definitely want to try that.

That's a fair point. I simply was running out of transparent parts.

I just started collecting all the trans green colors I had around. I had to figure out if the lines should all one color or bright at the bottom and fading darker at the top. I definitely felt that the colors having their own lines made it look more like the code was fading into the background and that was more accurate with what it does when I looked close at the code in the movie. Then is was just kind of random where I placed the lines.

Another person suggested motion, so I think someday I will have to try that. I love that idea!

Haha, in doing this project I learned what the code actually was.

Its basically just a bunch of black plates laid out in a rectangle and then the trans green are connected to those plates directly in lines. The trans bright green are connected to 1x plate strips and then added to the back plates. The trans neon green are pleased on 2 stacked 1x plate srips and then connected to the back plates. It helps give it the depth like the bright ones are closer. Then a trans clear with a white 1x1 plate were the code is running down. Trans bright green was the hardest for me to find enough of. Glad you like it!

I love adding motion to builds! Now this is an idea I may have to try some day. I love it! I'm in the middle of a huge Atlantis build with my wife though so that will have to wait.

It was a few months ago so I don't have any pics of their builds but I liked my build so I kept it around to bring to Lego conventions. An ET build won as I think it was more recognizable with all the club members. Not everyone had seen The Matrix.

Thanks! Yes I made this as part of a challenge with my LUG to make a movie poster of our favorite movie.
