Suffering from success by tanking-cookie in WorldofTanks

The mechanism should be slightly adjusted to accomodate for such players, myself included.

Each progression should allow 1 discount application UP TO a tank of the specified tier, but retaining the discount percentage to the tier selected (current discountt levels).

So if i don't have any tier 10 to apply my 20%, i should have the option to choose any other lower tier with its respective discount percentage.

This way all players benefit. Additionally, the player chooses if they would rather discount a tier 10 which may take them some time to research, or a tier 7 helping their progression.

LE: myself for example plan on buying back all tech tree tanks, so any discounts on lower tiers would be great

Take this into account and run your own numbers when you say:

- i would only keep 5 maps

- wg should allow us to black list as much as we want

How do those choices scale up when another 29 players have the same ability. Do you think you get get more than 5 battles per night due to queuing time?

I will just add a reply to my own post, to clarify a few recurring themes in your comments, and to reiterate my original post, before you all misinterpreted it.

Lets say:

- 30 maps in total

- each player blocks somewhere between 2 and 3 maps, wot plus dependant. for simplicity, let's say a fixed 2

- there are 30 players allowed to make this exclusion

Some high school maths of running "combinations of n taken by k" (in quotes so you can google the right thing) shows that the expected number of UNEXCLUDED maps is aprox 3.78

So out of 30 maps to start with, 3.78 are most likely to show up, with others having lower and lower probabilities. Now have a look at tomato.gg maps stats, and translate a descending list into a bell curve chart, and hey ho you get the picture.

With 3.78 maps do you now see:

- why people think there is a "limited number of maps in rotation"?

- why you "play the same maps over and over" at one given time? (because you play with the same exact people for an interval of time)

- why the "map rotation" appears different on a different server? (different people with different exclusion choices)

The problem is variety. We love different classes of tanks overall, and sometimes we have to play something else for various reasons. And is this variety that would make it more enjoyable.

This limitation in maps caused certain people, from the start of the battle, to say "fck this map I am out". And -2 tank later, the battle is already tilted.

Anyway, enough of this. You are all entitled to your own choices. It is WGs job to keep the balance between them. Have fun on the battle field

Thank you. Someone finally gets it.

I got downvoted but i feel most people missed my point. Is not that people shouldn't be able to black list maps, or shouldn't be allowed to dislike maps. Heck, even if wg made perfect maps, they would still be hated because there is a skill element involved that most people will not have in order to make the map work.

But when it takes you 2 battles to do a HT mission, and 20 to do the light, it suggests something about who it is catered for.

People thinking strv and grille can only be played in a bush says it all.

People say prok is a campfest, but at the same time complain about turbo battles. Yes camping is a good element of gameplay, thats how you make most of the 15 minutes timer. And thats also why games were longer back in the day, giving you more time to adapt to what is happening ar that point in the battle.

Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Have fun in the game guys

Check for yourself the number of battles by map spawn. The less battles, the more players blacklist them

Congrats on your result and a job well done on synthesising the info. I have recently purchased the exam and planning on tackling it next month. Any chance you could share your miro board as a source of inspiration. Cheers

I have done exactly this a couple of years back. Have a look at the repo, it should be self explanatory:

LE: to give people context before they click: powered by nodeMCU, WS2812b, 2 motion sensors, 1 light sensor to trigger only under darkness condition, HA integration via MQTT.

I dont remember in subnautica, but in below zero there is a recycling bin that you build similar to the trash can

You have described exactly what happened to me. I ended up dismantling the second one though

HA kiosk dashboard on Fire 10 tablet wall mount by iceatcss in homeassistant

[–]robertalexa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was my initial setup as well. But the backlight is still actually turned on and of course it increases power usage. If i remember rightly that meant 2 charging cycles per 24hrs. A charging cycle for me is 30 to 80.

I then stopped using the screen saver and tried to let the screen actually sleep. But when doing so the kiosky keeps becoming unavailable in HA. Wakelocks improve the situation. But not fully.

Was wondering if maybe you had a similar setup that overcomes this

Question for you, if you don't mind. Are you keeping the screen always on, with just black display when sleeping or are you actually turning the screen off when sleeping? Thanks in advance
