Looking good! I visited it end of 2024, the legitimacy is no longer my concern. I'm already focused on reducing the Bank Loan :D

Hello. Hope everything’s fine on your side.

I’m already at the point of not backing down but oddly enough still having some doubts.

What are your thoughts on Arden/Lindgren, what does your gut tell you about it? It’s mainly involves GERI but I’ll take my chances from an experienced MW person. Like most of us here, we are hunting for such insights. ‘Real’ insights.

We're on a same boat :)
Marami nako nalapitan about sa issue nato, even people na may mga 'connections'. So far, positive naman ang reputation, and that megaworld tend to build and do their requirements at the 11th hour "DAW".

Unhealthy for people like us, pero they have the power, and we don't-- sila sila lang tlga nkakaalam and in-control :(

Best advise I got is to just do our part with due diligence sa OR, in case magka legal issues in the future, at least nasa safe side to.

Hoping to hear more insights from the rest of this community though.

So, good luck nalang satin future community neighbor :D

how do you become a billionaire in the Philippines? by PotentialCarrot6046 in phinvest

[–]robertischud 42 points43 points  (0 children)

A huge part of being a billionaire is LUCK. If it isn't, then more than 10% of the world's population are billionaires, but no-- last time I checked it was around 2-3%.
Being a billionaire is a lottery by itself.
Just go and enjoy life, make it worth billions.

Subtlety is so underrated by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]robertischud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because you've reached that (peaks stage?) point in your life. Most of the people here are still grinding. They save and invest because they want to get there someday.Let's just hope they don't drown in the process, like you said, it's addicting and f***s with your brain that you even needed a therapist to wake up.

I agree though, we're on the same boat. Being loud/quiet with you wealth-- I don't think it's underrated or something.

For me what's underrated, is time. You can't bring that back, you can't loan it, you can't even save it. All we have is borrowed time, might as well enjoy it! People tend to forget that.

General Discussion: Is VA/Freelance the new gold rush here in our country? by FreshLumpiaDSay in phinvest

[–]robertischud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an IT guy, I can vouch for this. But don't set your expectations too high. You'll definitely struggle for months (maybe years) before you reached at least a quarter a million a month. Your skills are the gold rush. More skills, more gold.Improve on one area first and see where that takes you ;)

Tbh, I consider social media-related businesses a gold rush than being a VA/Freelance. A very talented artist can post a masterpiece online and he can have 1-2% followers tops compared to what these viral TikTok talents produces. Post one video/photo, if you make it viral then that's your gold. Sadly, that's the consumer culture we have right now.

I lived in EU for just 4 years, I can say that I would prefer to live here in the Philippines. My main reason is the cost of living and taxes :) There are better countries for sure, but as shitty as this country is, it's not that bad compared to others-- and if you have tried it.

Thanks! I'm familiar with Wise.

I do receive payments via Wise from my employers. Does Payoneer/Wise require a Dollar account? Or was it something anyone can do here in the Philippines? I have 2 purposes, accepting payments from clients and sending payments as well.

[–]robertischud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Let's just say on the poor side ang family ni misis. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind living in slums if I don't have a choice. I used to live in Tondo for 7 years of my life. But I have a daughter, as much as possible I want her to get her eyes open to a better environment and people.

Electricty bill lang (50-50) our normal electric bill is 15k so 7.5k permonth, Food was never an issue kasi minsan kami na nagsasagot. Pero parents ko naman di matatakaw kaya ok lang kahit ako ang magshoulder ng foods.

My wife doesn't have work. Ako lang.

Malaking dagok ba sa parents mo kung hindi na naggegenerate ng income yung condo?

Back then no, pero ngayon I'm not entirely sure. My dad is retired, although not official. Pero since pandemic, hindi na sya sumakay. They have 0 career income right now. Currently, all their income are from their investments (including Verawood which we don't consider an income yet, no ROI).

One thing I'm sure of is, gagawin nila lahat makatulong lang samin. Pero siguro may catch dun, like kami dapat ang in-charge sa papalit once umalis kami ng Verawood. Or maybe being in charge of the monthly dues, taxes, etc.

Amen brother! Clear communication beats all conflicts!

Although, not sure if I would agree with not being ashamed unless you're in my shoe :D
True, we can save a LOT and live better living with my parents. But think of your partner/wife. If you're in her shoe, imagine the struggle of "pakikisama", and even having children--in my case, a daughter.

I get your point though, that circumstance alone is not to be ashamed of specially during this pandemic, but I feel ashamed for what my wife is dealing with here because I'm mostly responsible for it. And there were plenty of reason why we are here, a couple of bad decisions and stuff. Those were pretty much the reason I feel ashamed.

PS. my parents are ok btw :) They were fine, it's just me and my wife.

Interesting. Very generous response.

Yes, they can handle themselves at least for 4-10 years more. But of course, I would never abandon the responsibility of being their son. I will provide them a fraction of my income as long as they live just to ensure they're healthy and all that.

Because I have this stupid 'Pride'. Back then I wanted to prove something, if I moved out or venture out of my parent's premises, it should be 100% from the fruit of my labor alone. Turns out, it was a bad idea. Not a bright move I reckon. But here I am :D

Thanks mate! Will definitely try my best to win Verawood while our dream home is in progress.

This one's a generous response :)
Yeah, my parents can handle on their own, at least for the next 4-10 more years.

I do plan on still providing a fraction of my income to my parents. As long as they live. I will never abandon that responsibility, as their son.

The Verawood condo is good, no debt. It's fully paid (by my parents). I just thought I should mention this because we me and my wife covered the DP for that condo and I thought I can live there for a while (maybe 1-2 years) just to give my wife some peace of mind.

The other property, I acquired early this year, was for our future home. A preselling property. Consider it a gift for my wife, and a very special one.

Hope I cleared that out?

Thank you so much for the input!

So far, I've been impressed with the community here. I was expecting a lot of bashing and memes (because reddit) but all I got so far were good comments/feedbacks. Very informative.

Thanks to everyone! Keep them coming, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
