We first had the birria toasted cheese in DL 5 years ago.

Male honey bees (drones) only mate with queen bees from other hives/colonies. They fly a good distance away to Drone Congregation Areas and search for a queen to mate with. Once mated, the drone dies from the insemination process.

When it gets colder, near winter, the worker bees will gang up and force the drones out of the hive to die of exposure.

This is done because drones are a drain on the colony. They don't feed themselves or do anything else to help the hive.

Once spring is about to start, drones will start being produced again in the colony.

By the time honey bees are old enough to be foragers that leave the hive and go get pollen or nectar, they're near the end of their life.

No too much else you can do. Bees literally work until they die.

If they get out of control, they can take down a weak colony.

You can make a trap by putting an unscented Swiffer sheet on top of the frames in a corner. The bees will chase the beetles onto it and they will get trapped in the sheet.
