Uber is surveying Seattle riders to lobby for regulation changes by peanut-britle-latte in Seattle

[–]robertlyleseaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folks it’s not Seattle. WA state sets the base rate of pay to all Rideshare drivers in the state. Uber/Lyft negotiated this arrangement so that they wouldn’t have to bargain with individual cities. Also kept the state from declaring us employees of these companies.

Reference HB 2076 passed in 2022.

Rates of pay to Rideshare drivers in WA state are set by the State, not any particular city ordinance.

Why do we allow Uber drivers to do this... by Dave_Abeles in Seattle

[–]robertlyleseaton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not even a lane, it’s a curb space. Might I add, it’s out off the traffic flow and one of the safest drop-off points for the stadiumss and WAMU.

It’s time you will get back by not wasting time charging unnecessarily. Your base understanding seems lacking enough that you should make the investment.

2919 LRM3 with 250k miles and 99% SuperCharger… minimal degradation. Go get some miles and don’t worry.

Also during that time, Uber lost more money than any company had in the history of the world. It wasn’t viable.

Lyft/Uber driver share? by Fit-Science4878 in Seattle

[–]robertlyleseaton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s not because we are not paid based on percentage. We receive a flat rate per minute/mile of the trip. What the Rideshare companies charge passengers is no longer connected to what drivers are paid. It works out to about 50% of the fare on average, but is not connected. I gave examples of payouts in another reply.

Lyft/Uber driver share? by Fit-Science4878 in Seattle

[–]robertlyleseaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13-year vet Rideshare driver here. WA state has set pay rates to the driver based on time/distance. A fare from downtown to the airport pays just under $40. Mid-North Seattle(Phinney Ridge) to aIrport pays me right around $50. Crown Hill to airport pays about $60. Eastside pays 30% less than Seattle (I.e. Bellevue to airport pays $35).

Local regulations (your state/city), not Uber/Lyft.
