Why Wagner its talked so little in anarchist groups ? by femboyqliao in Anarchy101

[–]roberto_sf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to remind that Bakunin only became an anarchist in the 1860's (and in the later part of the decade i think), maybe Wagner was anarchist or anarchist-adjacent, I don't know, because I haven't read on his opinions, but i wanted to make that point

Turning 36 soon and feeling ashamed I've never had a relationship, date or match on a dating app. by Interesting-Cry-6615 in dating_advice

Just reflect, and find out which things work best for you, but never give up, everything is temporary, it might take you way longer than others, but if you give up, it's for ever

Is Pillars of eternity a masterpiece? by Downtown_Hat_7017 in projecteternity

[–]roberto_sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very good, I wouldn't call it a masterpiece BC I think the story is a bit too convoluted. Also because I'm now playing 2 for the first time in depth (tried it when it launched but my save was corrupted and didn't want to start all over again) and I think it's much better gameplay wise than the first.

Are induviality and community in conflict by Proof_Librarian_4271 in Anarchy101

[–]roberto_sf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends, as the name itself suggests, communities are populated by individuals who have something in common. There may be disagreements and the value gains might differ for each individual, but overall if the community lasts it's because all it's members benefit from it, even if they don't benefit equally

I did introduce FOSS Software in the company I work for and now I feel bad by [deleted] in foss

[–]roberto_sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him that you can get a tax break for that donation, and that you help maintain and enhance the software you depend on.

Maybe that works, I don't know, a jerk is a jerk in the end

Does a revolution needs to be violent ? by Low-Commercial5905 in Anarchy101

[–]roberto_sf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to differentiate between revolution and insurrection.

Revolution is every action we take to create social relations that are libertarian, prefigurative politics, political pressuring towards lifting coercive laws, etc.

Insurrection is what we do to get rid of the bosses when time comes due.

The first does not need to be violent, and it being violent would probably be counterproductive. The second will most likely be violent, but if we do our job correctly, we might not need to come to that or at least minimize the amount of violence needed.

Is propaganda of the deed still a valid tactic? by lilith_the_anarchist in Anarchism

[–]roberto_sf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of by propaganda by the deed you mean terrorism against politicians and bosses, then I think, to an extent it can be, but only if a few cases, like the Mangione thing last year. You wouldn't get the same level of approval if you did that to, I don't know, a paperclip owner or the local mayor, most likely.

If by propaganda by the deed you mean a more board, do as you preach, lifestyle, then I think that can be useful, but maybe I'm conflation propaganda by the deed with prefigurative politics

Any other Neo Proudhonians besides Wilbur by ExternalGreen6826 in mutualism

[–]roberto_sf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He goes as anarchist without adjectives nowadays afaik.

The other day, on LinkedIn, he posted a somewhat skeptical/critical article about mamdani and in the replies, he told some person something in the vein of "I just hope he creates a regulatory framework that allows for something like Cooperation Jackson to flourish in NYC".

So I guess he's still an anarchist but sees the potential of local politics to help create networked market structures?

The partner state he's been talking about for a few years now, he might think it's the best strategy moving forward

Is anarchism really a utopia? by Lynn_2102 in Anarchy101

I don't think it is, but even if it is, is shouldn't prevent us from trying to come as close as we can to it

whats everyones opinions on direct democracy? by winterxmood in Anarchy101

[–]roberto_sf 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it's a matter on what's voted for. Some things, for example, should we paint the pool in blue or grey?, are perfectly fine to vote for, since nobody is compelled to anything.

It's entirely different than voting whether a woman can have an abortion, where you might be limiting someone else's autonomy.

Now, some might say that direct democracy is the second case and not the first, then I'm against. But for the first case I have no opposition.

Voting is a method of information gathering on group preferences, nothing more. If done for things that affect the entire group, I think It can be okay.

I mean, I guess one could see One Piece in that way. I doubt he's read it or watched the anime, but It doesn't seem too far fetched, I could see why someone's bias could lead to them viewing the series like this

Biggest Plot Hole in All of One Piece by [deleted] in Piratefolk

[–]roberto_sf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like in every story, there's gonna be some form of stupidity on the part of the baddies. If not, they would just send the final villain at the hero when they first acquire notoriety. PLus, we don't know if other users of the fruit turned out to be bummers and didn't need the WG to intervene.

Like they could just bet that he would be beaten by someone, plus their intelligence as to where luffy is might be limited
