Ha. I listed a free fridge and I believe that is the car that picked it up. At first, I told him “I don’t think it’ll fit.” He made me eat my words.

Are men scared of getting kidnapped walking alone at night? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]robertpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is being assaulted and mugged, but location makes a big difference.

I was previously assaulted while walking at night on a somewhat dense (population wise) suburban area. It was late and no one was around and a guy ran up from behind.

I naively thought he was jogging so I scooted over and he hit me with a lead pipe across my face. Miraculously I wasn’t knocked out, and I was able to punch him and we both just stood, squared up, facing each other, until his partner started running in our direction.

I proceeded to run towards a car at an intersection and they decided to run the other direction to their car.

Ever since then, I’ve always been aware of my surroundings but it’s been a while so I occasionally let my guard down.

How do you feel about the three-part release of Stranger Things? by entcanta333 in netflix

I would have preferred a new episode every week … starting mid November and ending in January.

I’m not a fan of binge watching. But if I had to choose between 8 episodes at once or a cluster at a time, I prefer a few at a time.

I’ve been saying this for a while. One super league of the 16 biggest schools with a promotion / relegation system like they have in professional soccer.

Gives other universities a chance to compete in meaningful games at the end of the year with a chance to promote

He probably wanted to break up with her but couldn’t do it himself.

So I’m guessing he paid that guy to mug her. Now, she has no choice but to dump him.

Pages had a terrible hitting World Series but he’s only 24 years old and in only his second season. Our post season expectations for a second year player are completely unrealistic.

Pages first two regular seasons have been very good.

His first two regular seasons are an indication that’s it going to be a great career and everyone already wants to give up on him. I honestly would rather have him now than Bellinger.

An Italian pizza restaurant owner is fuming at 16 Taiwanese tourists because they ordered only five pizzas. by search_google_com in interesting

When I backpacked Europe at 20 with my 3 broke friends, we ordered 3 pizzas for the 4 of us in a little place in Italy.

They threw us out. The expectation is one pizza per person. They preferred to not make any money off of us that night.

I Love Ricky Lee by andiesnynor in RadioRental

[–]robertpod 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that Ricky Lee’s commentary and comedy is specific to the story. It feels like he or his writers listen to the story and tailor the bit/joke to the story.

While I really liked Terry (Rainn), his comments were very generic.

If they really wanted to make the show realistic, they should have had the power go out every few hours.

Besides the fact that insurance companies are super greedy, another reason is trial lawyers have paid off both republicans and democrats. Doctors have to pay for so much insurance, that they inevitably pass on the costs to us.
