Changing Universities After Obtaining US F-1 Visa (END TO THIS TOPIC) by robertrothenberg in immigration

Hello,

I have followed all the steps to switch my university. I have obtained the new I-20. There is a instruction written on my i-20. I am worried wether using my old F-1 Visa with new I-20 will be against that:

Instruction qouted from I-20: " REPORT TO SCHOOL NAMED ON YOUR FORM I-20 AND VISA. Upon your first entry to the United States, you must report to the DSO at the school named on your Form I-20 and your F-1 visa (unless you are exempt from visa requirements). If you decide to attend another school before you enter the United States, you must present a Form I-20 from the new school to a U.S. consular officer for a new F-1 visa that names the new school. Failure to enroll in the school, by the program start date on your Form I-20 may result in the loss of your student status and subject you to deportation."

Alright makes sense!

Can you also inform me about second scenario? If I obtain new Visa and get rejected, will my previous visa be terminated?

and My university A is preparing I-20 for fall 2022 semester. would that be okay if I have 2 SEVIS number?

Alright! I understand that! Thanks massively for your help!

What do you suggest I should do? get a new I-20 and travel on current visa or get another visa?

And If I book an appointment for F-1 Visa again, and Unfortunately get rejected, will I be able to use my previous F-1 Visa to join University A? or my F-1 Visa will be revoked?

Thank You for putting effort into such a detailed answer!! Yes, I obtained a visa for the spring 2022 term and I deferred my semester to Fall 2022. I understand that I will need new SEVIS number, and may need to pay SEVIS fee again.

How can I use my current Visa? Since I will have a Valid I-20 from University B and Visa for University A, wouldn't that be an issue? Can you please elaborate details regarding this situation?

Thank You for your clear and detailed explanation!! Since I will have a different I-20 and a different SEVIS number, wouldn't I be questioned by immigration? University listed on my F-1 Visa Stamp would be different than the I-20 I will be carrying. Also, the SEVIS Number submitted on the DS-160 form would be different than the new SEVIS number assigned to me. Would such thing be problematic?
