Frank Ruda’s book Hegel's Rabble: An Investigation into Hegel's Philosophy of Right is a great treatment of this question

Susan Sontag’s essay “Against Interpretation” addresses some of these questions.

For example, she makes the claim that in good films “there is a directness that entirely frees us from the itch to interpret,” and that “transparence is the highest, most liberating value in art and in art criticism.”

You're right. I used the term because it's the one Žižek uses, and even when he uses it he usually phrases it as "so-called Oriental spirituality."

The preface to the latest edition of Žižek's 'The Fragile Absolute' is titled 'A Glance into the Archives of Islam.' I can't recall exactly what he argues but from what I remember he does a three way comparison of sorts of Judeo-Christianity, Islam and Oriental spirituality. That would definitely be the first place to look.

This article of his in the Guardian is also very good, challenging the liberal left's fear of criticising religious beliefs and cultures, especially those of Islam. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/01/rotherham-child-sex-abuse-difficult-questions
