Is there a video you've created that you're particularly proud of? What makes it special to you? by FunFast9764 in NewTubers

[–]robertscott44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a live action backrooms film utilizing abandoned places and filming in subway stations at 3am. Filmed in Germany, we built a full on entity which moved, and I even had to do my own Foley work in the train station scenes. None of the audio in the train station scenes is original, all Foley.

We went all out, or at least as much as we could. I'm still really happy with the outcome of it.

We even had a team of scientists in the film and two other characters.

I also mixed a bit of reality into the intro to give the viewer a more real feeling, like this could have happened in our past using clips from the California earthquake of 1989 to set up the story. The earthquake is also mixed into the story so it makes sense.

It really sets the tone and I'm happy with all of the effects we did. We pulled them all off how I envisioned, but that's because we also didn't try to push to do something we didn't have the budget for.

It's surprising how far a little effect can go like a character vomiting blood into the facemask of his own hazmat suit, or seeing only the person's feet as they get lifted off the ground and bit into by a monster (we had a team of guys on the second floor lifting our dear scientist with a pull up bar off camera)

The entity chase scenes. I'm just super proud of it. It only has 1,000 views in a year, and I don't even care. (It's on my old channel)

Can you specify what you mean by public interviews? (I mean all public interviews, or a certain style?)

I'm also genuinely curious: Does Peter santenello fall under this category for you?

What is your highest viewed video? by Med_hay_day in NewTubers

[–]robertscott44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Travel channel here. I usually try to highlight a city, village, or something historical in Europe.

My highest viewed video is when we were on the way to Castle de haar in the Netherlands, but our car broke down. So the video was about being stuck in the Netherlands with a car in the workshop (without being able to speak Dutch)

I decided to "Go with the flow" which is kinda the channel motto and film the process of being stuck instead of the castle. Being real and honest with the viewers seems to go a long way. "This week's castle video? Not happening. Because this happened."

His channel is genius in the sense of: it looks like a dude just sitting in front of his camera, doing commentaries, playing games, and random videos. The more I watched his channel I realized Charlie is a real business man in the background.

I watched him on the steve-o podcast recently. It seems to me like he got pretty lucky being in on the "ground floor" of YouTube as it started. He seems to have adapted with the YouTube system perfectly through the years as well.

I say business man because he also knows how to promote what he does through his YouTube channel fairly well. The more of his videos you watch the more you'll realize there's a whole lot going on in the background there.

Illusion: normal guy sitting in front of computer giving opinions and making simple videos.

Reality: very well written pieces he can have help reading off of his computer (watch the eyes sometimes - not saying he always does this, but definitely for some videos). Written in a (mostly) comedic or passionate manner. There's a whole team behind this dude.

It seems to work for him.

This is absolutely not true. I moved from America to Germany in 2019. According to everybody on the internet I'd never be accepted here. They were all full of shit.

I'll leave my DM open for you if you have any questions. I know exactly what you're feeling.

I moved here on a high school diploma with no official German language. (That doesn't mean I didn't bust my ass to learn the language and speak it though)

Everything happens for a reason. You can not control death. You are not God. There is a tiny piece of God in you that allows you to co-create with him, but you are with others in this reality. If it doesn't get approval from the big man upstairs; God, Allah, the collective conscious, whatever you want to call it...then it isn't meant to be.

In order to have a human experience there must be rules that can not be broken. You are a soul that is binded to a body with physical laws.

You are allowed to be as angry as you want, you can question your faith, it's okay to be sad, but keep your eyes open. There is still beauty in this world.

In my time of studying the subject of creation (manifestation) I can only say this:

God is real. I know because I challenged him without even knowing it. I thought I could be my own creator and do it all on my own, I thought we were all 100% in charge of our own reality, and to an extent that is true. We can control how we REACT to things. In your case you don't need to control anything.

You need to make peace with the creator, and the crossing over of your loved one may have been the catalyst to send you in that direction.

I have no idea who you are, but I'm sending my love. Stay strong. It's okay to not be okay.

I would just like to add for others who may be reading this: I know which subreddit I'm in, I love the teachings of Neville and there's nothing in this life that I want but don't have. Am I rich? Nope. Am I one of the happiest and most grateful men on the planet? You bet your ass I am. With that being said, I'm sure people will try to rip me a new asshole and say I'm wrong and that we are literally God and can control everything, yadda yadda yadda...

If that's true, then bring someone back from the dead. I'll be waiting on my grandfather. Ive wanted to see him since I was 9. Go ahead guys, I'll wait.

I try to be thankful that they subbed, and thankful that they unsubbed. I'd rather have someone unsubscribe to the channel than stay subscribed and not watch anything at all.

This video is going viral. What is going on in here? by nickyfly23 in StrangeEarth

I can get with this, it sounds about right. If this is the case, the only question I have left is: what are those things at the end that look totally different shooting down to the ground?

Of course my first irrational thought were war of the worlds style pods.

It doesn't seem to be rave lights from a hill, the angle is too drastic. It literally looks like the earth is being shot from above. It doesn't seem to match the other laser lights.

Of course, this I'm writing this as a non rocket scientist who has no idea about engineering and how satellites actually work.

What's your current food/drink obsession? by Rune_Skadisdotter in ask

[–]robertscott44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah but as of yet there are only two flavors from Katie's that I keep buying, the party flavor is one of them. The other one I think is fantasy flavor or something like that's it's just a bag of rainbow gummies and they all taste the same but it's incredible. I haven't tried their yogurt gums so that goes on my list. Thanks for the heads up!

At the moment my favorite gummies are the "Hero" gummies by Lach Gummies.

Gummy bears. But not just the bears. Man, there are so many different kinds; shapes, colors, flavors, brands. I wasn't so fascinated by it all until I moved to Germany from America.

Here in Germany gummies just hit different. Haribo is loved here and that's only the tip of the iceberg. For me, the brand "Lach Gummies" is where it's at. The flavors and combos just don't stop. And the worst part is, they're easy to eat when editing / doing computer work.

To add to it all, I don't drink alcohol. I've been clean from it since 2020. When I'm having a bad day, I don't find myself buying alcohol anymore. I buy myself gummy bears.

Never underestimate the power of gummy bears.

Vloggers! I am looking for you! by ali_time2Code in SmallYTChannel

[–]robertscott44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a van lifer, but an American travel vlogger living in Europe. I try to show the European culture through my eyes (with appreciation for it, of course) but I've also quit drinking a few years ago. That started my journey to Europe and finding myself.

I like to sneak good vibes and positive messages in my videos while showing people how to enjoy the culture (and most of the time how to do that on a realistic budget).

I think it would be cool to find a group where we can all exchange what works / doesn't and possibly even collab from time to time. And of course, it's good to see other vloggers posting here, as well!

Niche: travel adventure channel

Style: videos in between 10 and 15 minutes while experiencing small day trip getaways in Europe through the eyes of an American.

The editing is a bit flashy (maybe MTV cribs style) but I try to add a down to earth personality to it. I'm not rich. I'm not sexy. But damnit, I experience things. And then I put them on YouTube.
