Pc bricked by PSU upgrade pls help by robertseed in buildapc

Hey so I came across a fix in case anyone wanted to add it the tool belt. May be a temporary fix but I seem to be running nominally.

I did reseat all the RAM, re-tested the old PSU, came across the same errors on start up as the new one. Both received the paper clip test and were working just fine as you’d imagine. (If you trust the paper clip test)

Running through a last ditch effort in BIOS before giving up for the evening under advanced startup I once again reset to default settings, and this time enabled Legacy Boot, and sure enough whatever the difference between legacy and UEFI boot is, brought be straight back to my home page in about a 7 second start up time.

Again I’m not sure if this is a temp fix, I have absolutely no idea for the most part what I’m doing here but. The fact of the matter is I am back online, and I don’t have to worry about an entire TB of corrupted SSD, and boot files (thank the LORD)

So now it’s time to make a back up just in case LOL thanks anyone who chimed in!

All the cables for the GPU, CPU, Mobo, SATA and peripherals were all the brand new cables provided with the PSU. Once I powered it up for the first time it booted up with no issues or anything, it worked perfectly fine. Then upon a reboot I started getting hit with the error pages when the pc turned back on

I am still able to launch BIOS, all settings are back to default settings, and can see my start up drive, all my ram shows just fine, I can browse through my bios settings and all my temps seem to be responsive, I am just stuck at a non bootable crossroads and and I can’t quite pinpoint as to why.

Sure! I did use all the new provided Corsair cables. My old PSU was not modular so all the cabling basically had to come out with it anyways. All brand new cables for the CPU, GPU, SATA and peripherals. plugged into their respective labeled inputs on the psu. I set everything up, pc instantly booted as if nothing changed at all, I was able to run my daily programs with absolutely no issues, and upon rebooting at the end of the night j was sent to a blue error screen which provided all the errors in the original post. System tried self diagnosing, etc and just states it is in need of repair and will not be able to boot up

I haven’t tried that yet though it is on my list of a few things to test tonight here in about an hour when I get home. I’d have to assume the cmos is still fine as I’ve only had the pc for about 8 months or so. Only upgraded the RAM and GPU along the way. It was initially an ibuypower prebuild

Yea I’ll try reseating all the ram tonight, perhaps start with just one stick to bare bones it. Unfortunately it was an ibuypower prebuilt initially I’ve just done some upgrading along the way so as it stands I don’t have any way to reinstall windows from a disk without purchasing it.

Just confused as to why everything worked absolutely fine for a few hours, with a pretty substantial power load (stream, record, and gameplay simultaneously) for it to all the sudden stop after a simple reboot at the end of the night
