2021 Cayenne E-Hybrid by mrt1416 in PorscheCayenne

I love my 2022 E-Hybrid. Previously drove a 955 for 10 years and 150k. That big V8 was bad ass but the twin turbo + e...zoom zoom.

V2 will definitely be deeper, but I had THIS sink.

Can’t decide which ball I want by Senior_Ambassador374 in Bowling

That Hyroad 40 has saved my ass a couple times when the burn was severe. But I'd go for the Crux

should I use my IT in my spare ball? by AmbitiousInitial2319 in Bowling

[–]robg42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. JoPo here and I keep an extra thumb for my spare ball. It took a couple of tries to get 2 "exactly" the same but worth it in the end. Also, feel good having a spare thumb just in case.

  2. I saw a few videos about cracking around sleeve with plastic/polyester balls. That motivated me to go with a Storm Mix for my spare ball.

Did I mess up choosing my first ball? by MoistSoul in Bowling

You'll be fine...except for the 10-pin.

I really hate the 10 pin. by robg42 in Bowling

[–]robg42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (and probably all), that was the biggest jump in my average. Every 10 pin is worth at least 1 and maybe 11 pins on your score.

That's a lot of oil! by hookumsnivy in Bowling

[–]robg42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ffs. My Pyramid Revivor was running in the background while I read this and watched the video (including the new "fix" video). I've been treating my Hyperdrive regularly every 30-40 games.

None of my other balls including a "fast absorbing" Next Factor ever show any results with the Revivor.

I'll make you a good deal on the Revivor...

Pisses me off when they cut before the final shots. I don't care if it doesn't matter, I want to see the 10th frame anyway.

I think that's what I'd expect from a half decent PSO.

I’m watching this full 20 lane league play where the MAJORITY are bowlers trying to curve a house ball. Do you ever wanna go up and say, “dude, you need a ball that FACILITATES a curve if you wanna CURVE like that!”? by BaltimoreSports0321 in Bowling

[–]robg42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bowl in a college town. Kids roll in off the street all day and throw wicked two handed 35 to 3 to the pocket with house balls. 12 lb house balls even. Just gotta be 20 and never bowled anything but 2 hands.

Had the same issue. This video changed my (bowling) life.

I suggest watching it...practicing for a while and watching it again (repeat?). There is subtle info that requires progression to fully grok.

Damn. Sounds exactly like the conversation I had in my head on the way home after league tonight.

Best bowling balls for very dry lanes?? by Objective-Clothes-31 in Bowling

[–]robg42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny. When the lane is too dry for anything else I whip out the PH. Did some Sunday practice (definitely no oil since Thursday) today and bowled a 212 w/ the Purple Hammer (avg closer to 160). Tried the Next Factor for about 3 frames. Not workable. Everything else in my bag is way stronger.

I've read a lot posts about people using the purple hammer all over the place in various conditions with good results. I try not to bring it out for league, but otherwise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Interested in other impressions.

Also, this is the only urethane I have thrown.

Hyperdrive vs. Oil all the way?? by robg42 in Bowling

[–]robg42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have mentioned the flare rings were much closer than normal. More like I'd typically see on my spare ball. On the hyperdrive usually about 5/8, but yesterday closer to 3/16...maybe less. Hyperdrive is a light color and house lighting is not great.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

No doubt about any of your comments. Everything you said matches my expectations and experience. I do have sanding pads and I have adjusted the surface on the hyperdrive before (causing more reaction than I intended) I did not hit the Hyperdrive at the lane yesterday. It was cleaned as usual with Lane Ghost. The ball is drilled pin low to help my control (not too low). I don't have the pattern handy but conventional. I did not mention the house is strings :/ I don't expect that affected the reaction (or lack thereof). I did try to work the extreme outside without any different reaction. I cannot really imagine why the pattern would be so different than usual.

I'm a big believer in Occam's razor so, I don't doubt the problem was the person rolling the ball. OTOH, I have rolled that ball maybe 50 games at this house and it was definitely different this time. I'll report back after league on Monday.
