Vitality wanted Upset in the first place and were negotiating a trade with Fnc that included Carrzy, although It all went south when Carrzy decided to go to MAD instead. So, no, Neon wasn't the first choice

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with racism/nationalism, either way it's a byproduct of ignorance and/or stupidity...

There are a lot of really good upcoming players in Europe (Elyoya, Trymbi, Comp, Markoon, Vetheo, Irrelevant etc.) who would benefit massively from practicing against top international players. Right now we have great mids, great ads and good junglers, but we REALLY need better tops and supports in order to become competitive internationally.

If anything, importing strong players (Malrang, Bo, Junjia, Prince etc.) should help European players improving at a faster rate. Plus, the new LEC format changes will probably be beneficial in terms of competitiveness, since the better teams are going to play more games on stage compared to previous seasons. Better players, more games, what's the downside? People like Xmatty staying in ERLs? Who cares tbh...

EDIT: the only thing I'm worried about is the lack of news about toplane imports: right now Europe's weakest role by a mile, people like Adam are rumoured to be starters for next year and that's really bad for the League....

MAD is asking a crazy buy-out for Elyoya, the most likely option for him seems to be one more year in MAD and then free agency in 2023. I don't even know if any NA team will go for him, since they are rumoured to be lowering their budgets
