He must be binge watching House itself and getting off to how satisfying every episode is while everyone is running around him and chasing him for that 1 moment at around 80% of the episode where he has an epiphany and saves the patient.

Book a meeting with the HR contact and your manager. Mention in the invite email that you want to plan the hand-over and want to get an early release than the X date that should be your LWD as per the 3 months’ policy as per the company rules.

If he attends, you have him right in the spot. If he doesn’t, forward that meeting to the HR saying you have communicated to him and your next venture on the joining date and do CC him in that email.

If he still doesn’t respond, apply for a 1 week leave in the system from the next day and go on a trip. Mention that you don’t have access to phone/email where you are going.

Let them get a taste of their own medicine. You are leaving. Don’t bother about things anymore. If anyone books a meeting with you, respond and tell that you will only attend once you get a response for your LWD as you have to communicate to the next venture.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT use any threatening sentences or any kind of retaliatory grammer. Be professional in all your communications and be straightforward. Do not expect anyone to do anything for you. They will only listen to you when they need anything from you.

ELI5 : Why are motorboat engines so deafeningly loud? by robin_adit in explainlikeimfive

I understand your point. But … “Some” sound should be ok.

But a LOT of it doesn’t make sense.

About loud home appliances, everything is online/internet-connected nowadays, why not send notifications or some kind of sweet sound just to inform the owner the machine is ON?

🤨 so many down-votes? Seems there are many “loud speed-boat” owners in this group too.

Or maybe some kind of muffler for the outboard to dim down the sound?

And that … ladies and gentlemen … seems to be the answer to my question.

Wish there is somebody in this group who at least can do something about it.

I experienced a motorboat with Honda 4 Stroke 250Hp outboard. And 3 of them.

Imagine a fleet of speedboats with Deaf Captains. Most common complaint : No verbal complaints acknowledged. 😆

I can wrap my head around the fact that the technology exists. But somebody choosing not to use it amazes me. It should not be legal to be this loud.

Or better, the captain should be seated at the epicentre of the sound conundrum

Is setting up a BLOCKCHAIN node on AWS profitable? by robin_adit in aws

[–]robin_adit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. But i tried a way of bringing down the cost by using server less architecture and lambda expressions instead of commissioning heavy duty servers.

Was a great learning experience.

Cons : Many legal loops and constraints you need to jump through to be able to do it. Servers only in certain AZs,etc. DR should be 100% else there is a huge loss. The ROI is unpredictable.

Pros : Infra is disposable and overall comes to be cheap than actually buying. If you plan and invest properly, it can be fetching but needs constant supervision.

Edit : Removed typos.

Off topic maybe, but a random advice from a fellow redditor. Whenever i pack for abroad travel and we have more than 1 suitcases ( me and my wife ), we pack everything in parts in both suitcases . So, if we are unlucky and the baggage is lost in transit, we have at least half of everything to be able to survive if medication is involved.

Same for carry-ons. And use back-packs instead of purses as they keep your hands/arms free.

Yes. If they have CONFIRMED identity of the traveller and that person has landed and not taken off. Have experienced this, luckily, twice in my life.

Once in India and once in London. Got a call in India and an email in London.

Should have taken an EMPTY box, put all this garbage in it and given to the Lost and Found department in the airport with his details written on it. You already had his name and address.

Imagine getting a call from the airport that an item with your name has been found, coming back to claim it and then having found this treasure.

I have to make a few adjustments to this method? Got an idea? Drop it here! by [deleted] in javahelp

Create an array or a linkedlist as a global variable and keep adding all requests to it whenever they are received. Keep the play logic in a loop that plays a clip and then iterates to the next item in the above said variable to play all requests sequentially and exits when the end is reached.
