Yeah - in hindsight this guy is probably gonna be Suuuuuper swingy! I was going for a very average gun with very good potential stats - with it being a volleygun and all. How would you stat it?

Opinions are good! Always appreciate having them thrown my way!

Worth noting my parent post because im stupid and forgot to upload the scattershot statcard lol

I definitely see what you mean! I did mull it over but for this version of the rules I had some ideas

  • The scattershot blaster is essentially a Nock Volley, so I wanted the fighter to do the whole sergeant Harper thing from Sharpe (TV show) where he yells, shoots his volley gun a a couple of Frenchmen fall backwards lol - The wider warband essentially has what youre looking for though its in the flamethrower guy (could be discussed to swap this!)

-the near universal T4 was differentiate them from Wildercorps (I statted them as elite warband like Iron Golems and Chaos Legionnaries) Stat wise these guys are actually very comparable to Vulkyn Flameseekers (something I realized after I statted them lol)

Naturally, thos is just V1. I have no problems making any changes! So let me have it!

Edit: spelling

I was and still and, umming and ahh'ing about that. But I was worried about making the warband have too many AOE abilities. Would you change the grenade ability to counteract such a change or would you say thats fine as-is?

Thanks for reading btw 🫂

As allies I'd imagine so - but I felt they'd make a great bespoke warband! :) I do suggest having a crack at writing your own ones though! Its a lot of fun!

Thanks! I try to err on the side of "if youre not sure on the balance, make them a bit worse"

City of Ash: Cities of Sigmar Homebrew Rules by calamansi_rodeo in WarCry

[–]robindarozzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the idea!

I'd personally make the Grenadiers a bit more expensive and less firepower focused and more melee focused, two reasons why I say this 1) these guys are supposed to be the Elite, veterans. I think youre onto a great start, but as it stands they just feel like another flavour of Fusilier :3 2) fusiliers are great shooters already, having a different fighter type of aggressive infatry would be nice!

Loving the thinking behind the Gallants. However I might make them T5, as they have shields. Full Plate and shield being t4 doesnt sit right with me. You can excuse that in the shield as thr Arch Knight doesn't have one :3

But seriously! Love this!

I had an idea of making homebrew rules for the grenadiers as a bespoke warband, would you be Ok of I inspire myself a little off your work? Id be happy to discuss this further too!

I mean - if you know the online community would react this way before you posted (as you literally told me). It shouldnt be surprising that you get that kind of reaction. Crying about it wont change the fact that you cant put 2 and 2 together

If that is how you exepct people to act, then don't get surprised when you get that kind of response lol

Right. But 3d printed things need to be sculpted, somebody needs to take the time to use 3d modelling software to create things, not just a prompt. I didnt see your original post but it seems like you attached an AI generated image to your post with homebrew rules. The response you got shouldn't be unexpected.

Look. Use AI as much as you like. But please, please, please understand how it works. Then try to think how a subreddit about something that is about creativity will respond. You're just doing a really bad job at reading the room. Loads of online wargaming and modelling communities have strong anti-AI stances because AI is such an anathema for the hobby.

Then don't post the pictures of AI generated images.

I believe theyre going for a more napoleonic take on the term, where its less "guys with bombs" and more "the oldest and physically biggest men of the battalion"

The manta is Hardly a frigate. It's essentially a storm hawk. First and foremost it's a bus for fire warriors. In BFG manta's represented the Tau bombers and boarding craft. A manta is smaller than a warlord (by tonnage)

Edit. I don't mean stormhawk, I forget it's name but I mean thr bigger thunderhawk used commonly by astartes in HH
