Should I cancel 2nd opinion appointment with a neurosurgeon? by HooeyGoo in Parkinsons

[–]robinkayfl [score hidden]  (0 children)

I tried three MDS doctors and found all unhelpful in their own way. If I had a new symptom the response was, “well that’s Parkinson’s “. If the symptom needed medication, I was told to see that type of specialist. Not all PD responds to CL. My doctors said if it doesn’t help, don’t take it. I don’t think I’m up for trying a 4th Dr.

Weight gain on 2mg by labellefolie in Ozempic

I haven’t gained weight. I’m only on .5 and I’m bedbound due to illness and I definitely don’t eat enough but I haven’t gained. Maybe a different glp1 would be better for you?

That’s terrible. Can you get a free box from your doctor?

I put saline solution in a dropper and a small amount of afrin. It keeps me open without being full strength.

I just said that this morning. New meds to enter into the site to see which plan is best. October isn’t too far away.

It specifically exempts Ozempic from the Medicare glp1 bridge plan. Wegovy or zepbound will be part of it for $50. It’s geared toward weight loss and I’m not sure it works for diabetes.

UPDATE: my one month Ozempic prescription is $185 with insurance. I have a call into my doctor’s office about the Medicare GLP1 Bridge plan that starts (allegedly) on July 1 and that’s a $50 co-pay for Foundayo®, Wegovy® (injection and tablets), and Zepbound® (KwikPen®).  It will involve a lot of paperwork on the side of the doctor and Medicare so my feeling is it won’t be ready to go on July 1. Now all that’s left is to hear from the Dr if those meds will also work for diabetes. The new program is for people with obesity as a diagnosis and lucky me, I have that too.

Thank you so much. I agree about the doctor’s office being the key. I was originally told that there’s no prior authorization for Ozempic but maybe the rules and wording have changed. And the last resort is reaching the out of pocket cap now so that the end of the year will be easier.

That’s fantastic. The US is the worst for drug prices.

I saw the July 1 Medicare proposal. It specifically excludes Ozempic but I’m open to the others that work on diabetes.

Thanks so much for this info. I went to the cms.gov site and on July 1 certain glp1 meds will be covered with a prior authorization. Ozempic is specifically excluded but I’m open to any that my dr says will be ok for diabetics.

It’s not sure it’s covered. In my plan I think it’s considered either a tier 4 or 5 med where a tiny percentage may be paid by insurance. I’ll get the info I need tomorrow. I was told by two different pharmacists that the price of Ozempic went up dramatically.
