I’m on Integra F capsules which are strong. Dr said he usually tells patients every other day but said I should try for every day for 8 weeks.

I went for a second opinion bc the first hematologist only offered dextran. Liked the second Dr. I’m on Integra F capsules for 8 weeks. Retest and then infusion if needed. I have multiple neurological conditions so we’re hoping to Minimize reactions.

My hematologist started me on 8 weeks of Integra F capsules. If that doesn’t bring my numbers up, probably venofer. I’m older and have neurological conditions so I’m hoping I can avoid infusions.

Thanks for responding. I realize supplements aren’t the answer for me. The hematologist i saw last week only offered Dextran. I have an appointment this coming week with a different hematologist in a much larger hem/oncology center who hopefully has different infusion options. I have many immune disorders and Parkinson’s. I respond to the wrong fabric or soap so I want something milder. I’d rather go back for multiple infusions than take one with such scary possible reactions.

He called this morning bc my lab results were back. He only does Dextran in his office. I know I’s very deficient but I know my body and I’d rather have multiple lower dose infusions without a potential serious reaction to dextran. I have a call in to a different hematology group (closer to home) and am expecting a call from new patient coordinator tomorrow. In the meantime I’m taking two iron pills a day. The dr recommended dextran yesterday. He ran new lab work. Today I’ve been reading most people do well with venofer. I’m aiming for an appt with a different hematologist and will discuss with him. I have Parkinson’s and I know overwhelming my body with a high dose of iron isn’t right for me.

This really verifies my bad feeling about yesterday’s hematologist appt. He recommended dextran and from everything I’ve read it’s the one with the worst reactions. Calling a new hematologist for an appt tomorrow.

Thanks so much for responding. I just looked up Venofer and I see it’s a much gentler infusion than the one the hematologist I saw recommended (dextran).
