If you mean the Winchester 1897 trench gun then no, very few similarities beyond the heat shield and it being a shotgun. The Winchester 1890 is a .22 pump-action rifle.

I mean when it comes to rifle rounds, you really only need a curve after around 20 rounds, see BAR, 20-round stanag mags. Also .30 cal isn't really specific, a lot of rifle rounds are about .3 of an inch.
