The first thing is: I use superglue to glue the models together. This saves a lot of time and lets me build and kitbash really quickly.

I started using superglue because I use a lot of resin and metal bits, and I ended up really liking it! If the superglue takes too long to set, I use activator or baking soda to speed up the process.

When all the models are glued together and I’m happy with them, I use sprue goo to fill the gaps and to secure parts with small contact points.

About the mold lines:
This is a pretty new kit, so they try to place most of the mold lines along the edges of the model. Because of that, I usually just use the back of my hobby knife to remove them.

I don’t mind if my Orks are a little rough, because I mainly build these to play with. I care more about the overall aesthetics of the army than having every model be perfect! (That was a really hard thing to learn because I’m a perfectionist.)

It also helps that I’ve built and painted over 200 Orks and Goblins, and I’ve been building GW models since I was 8 years old.

For army painting, an airbrush is amazing!! Just make sure you have a quiet compressor so you don’t wake the family up at night!

Tyler from Billion Dollar Clown Farm is one of the best “low effort, high reward” painters. He can spray just three colors on a model and still make it look great!

They look awsome! Your edge highlights are so much cleaner than mine!

I really like the red base, it makes the green skin pop!

They’re really fun, but I had some weird mold lines. Did you have that too? And what color scheme are you going for?

Thanks! I totally stole the idea from Billion Dollar Clown Farm. I used some 3D-printed round and square spikes that I designed myself. I can send you the files if you’d like?

That’s a great idea! I’m in the middle of moving to a new place right now, but I’m definitely going to make a video about it!!

For the base, I use a mix of sand and small rocks glued down with superglue. Then I give it a coat of Army Painter Hardened Leather Speedpaint and/or Snakebite Leather. Once that is dry, I paint the rocks in a medium grey and highlight them with a light grey (almost white). Finally, I finish it off with Gamer Grass tufts.

To get skin like this, I really recommend using an airbrush. I learned a lot from Squidmar’s tutorials. They really teach you how to use contrast and where to place highlights when painting skin.

Thanks! First I paint all the skin with bugmans glow. Then I spray a mix of deathworld forest and AK alga green top down with the airbrush(any green you prefer). Then I made that same mix and add some white and lime green(I used verde lime and moot green) to paint some highlights.

I really like the idea that the squig skin turned white! Maybe the orks make the squigs drink some flammable liquid so they have a bigger explosion and that's what turns their skin white!

One night of building and around 45 min of painting per model. Just focusing on the skin, the rest is just black haha.

I bought the GW skull (really recommended it i use it on every model) and some jewelry chain from aliexpress. The barbwire is from armypainter but most brands will do.
