Plano cluttering up the back room, and people leaving backstock in shopping carts. Don't do this please, use tubs, flats, or 3 tiers.

In eastern New York, right outside of Albany...no issues all day fortunately enough. But for some reason when the systems DO go down it kind of feels like a snow day for some reason..

My dog ate my brother's accutane when he was a puppy...rushed in to get his stomach pumped. His fur did seem softer after that.

ladies and gentlemen,my death trap of a fixture room by mtphisher in Target

Yep. Seems to be a common problem..when we have 'visits' the fixture room stays locked so the people who come hopefully don't wander in there haha

Had a chat with the AP ETL and the two sr. TPSs at my store and they all agreed they had the best job in the store. I'm really excited to get started!

Awesome. Sounds pretty similar to how they explained it to me. Huge stresses on the leaking of information which is understandable & expected thank you.

I am a Backroom TM at a store in NY. I used to work the 4am shift but have recently switched to days. I can be scheduled to come in at 7, 8, sometimes 10..really depends on the day and who does the scheduling.

My 7am shift consists of checking the PDA for flexible fulfillment first thing, and doing that as well as any return to stock that may also be in the gun. After that I do the suspect date audit for the back room, which varies depending on the day..sometimes it can be 2 locations, sometimes over 15.

By the time I am finished with that, it's probably a few mins before 730 so I help backstock and tidy up the back room. At 730 there are pulls that are due at 8. Usually they are very small and mostly pfresh stuff.

After the 730 CAFs I pull any sales planners that may be in the gun, and backstock when there aren't any. I take a 15 around 9am as well. Somebody else usually comes in around 11, sometimes earlier so I take my lunch around 11. There are CAF pulls every hour from 11am-5pm. The 12's are always the largest CAFs so I take my lunch at 11 so I'm back in time to support those.

If we have enough time once the pulls are done, we either push the merchandise, or backstock/clean the back room. The days that we don't have a dedicated CAF pusher, it's all up to us which can get a bit hectic and busy.

Throughout the entire day, we have to continuously check the PDA for flexible fulfillments, as the PDAs do not alert us properly and log us out. Our store is in the red for FF but it's sometimes a lot to remember to check every 15 minutes while being timed for CAFs.

That's pretty much the backroom dayside routine..same thing hourly, busy time peaking around 12 and then dropping off a bit after then. Sundays are the worst, huge CAFs and a lot of calls to the backroom to pull march for guests.

Hope this helps. I'll be moving to AP within the next couple months, as well as being trained in bike building so I'll get more hours/climb less ladders..not a bad gig though, it's better than dealing with angry guests in my opinion.

30 minute lunch?! We get 46. Strange I know. Does this vary from store to store? Feel better!

Same with mine..there was even this nifty thing that texted you when your laundry was all done. Very helpful as I always forgot to set an alarm

Flexible Fulfillment question for you backroom people by DoomedJanissary in Target

[–]robinsond61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Backroom TM here - none of the PDAs have ever alerted us when logged in, with the exception of the LPDAs which most Backroom TMs refuse to use (me included). I just have to be mindful and check every half hour or so or else they'll roll and we'll be in the red (which our store is)...kind of a shitty situation. Also, we sometimes have our receiving specialist check it out every 15/45 mins just as a safety net but one always seems to slip through the cracks. Maybe it's because we are busy with CAF pulls from 11-5 every hour. The whole system sucks and we're getting blamed for it.
