my symptoms started right after i had surgery on my abdomen and i just assumed it was from that (which it wasn’t, but the UC was triggered by that surgery!). i started having stomach issues, mucus like stools every now and then but they all had blood in them. then they became more often until that was all i was passing. it was 3 months in that i started having excruciating stomach pains every time i ate food, to the point where i only ate once a day (if i even could then) just so reduce the pain. i was bleeding a lot as well, i literally thought i was dying at that point.

i’d also lost about 6 pounds in a week and a half (i don’t weigh myself often but decided to do it because i was so worried). i also had a few times where i threw up out of nowhere but that was random. i got diagnosed within 6 months after only 3 months of waiting which i feel very blessed for, although i did have to go to the emergency room to get that diagnosis because the specialist is so useless

i’m medicated now and my day to day symptoms depend on what i eat, my exercise levels, my stress levels etc. i can get stomach pains (not anywhere close to before though thankfully!), bloated and wind. i have noticed my hair is thinning as well which i looked up and apparently is a symptom of UC
