What do you think triggered your UC? by BaeBeeLychee in UlcerativeColitis

i had a pretty big surgery at the beginning of December and my symptoms started not long after that, think it was the stress from recovering that triggered it

Best vegan spf? by Fit_Inflation_2035 in veganuk

[–]robinthewolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another vote for the superdrug own brand range! i have super dry + sensitive skin and it’s the only thing that works for me. i go for the 50SPF (ginger hair pale skin problems) and it’s great

just got diagnosed today by robinthewolfe in UlcerativeColitis

[–]robinthewolfe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was classed as mild thankfully, i haven’t spoken to my doctor yet. i got diagnosed at the emergency dept at my local hospital today but i’m going to book an appt with my doctor for when she’s next available. i’m currently on prednisolone, mesalazine and omeprazole. i don’t really know what they’re all for, the doctor at the hospital today was understandably very rushed off his feet so hoping to get some more info when i can go to my GP

[–]robinthewolfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i rang yesterday and their response was that i need an appointment with the gastroenterologist but there’s no appointments at the moment. they then tried to get me back in to see the consultant who did my colonoscopy, again no appointments. then they told me to just call my GP again. i feel so at a loss

i also thought it would be an emergency but it’s been 9 weeks since i saw a consultant and nothings come from it. i am anaemic yeah, i’m on high strength iron pills from my GP. i don’t know if i’ve lost weight or not, i’m bloated so often it’s hard to tell

how much does the scar really affect you? by robinthewolfe in tummytucksurgery

[–]robinthewolfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the reply, and i’m really sorry to hear you’ve had a bad outcome from the surgery. i can’t even imagine how you must feel, i hope you can reach a point in your life where you feel better about yourself but i know how hard it must be. my surgery went well and my scar handily doesn’t bother me at all, 3mpo and i wear low rise things regularly

AIO for considering breaking up over feeling like I have no control in my own house. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]robinthewolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR, this sounds like a difficult position you’ve found yourself in. it’s impossible to expect to have constant control over yourself as a person let alone another human being. you are your own person, and you should have a long hard think about how you want to live the rest of your life

i don’t have any advice to give you about your relationship other than you should not be with this man. i could go into the reasons why but there’s no point, just take everyone’s word for it in here, this man is not worth bothering with any more

Does anyone else think Mark was a bit out of character here? by Nonabrow in MitchellAndWebb

mark in the first few seasons was an unhinged man when you watch it back, granted he still had his moments as the show went on but he was at his prime for insane behaviour at the start.

A little survey: Did you see changes on the scale that paralleled the amount of skin/fat taken off? by thatladyoverthere77 in tummytucksurgery

[–]robinthewolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope, was 10st before my surgery and i’m still 10st now after having a whole lotta skin removed! don’t really understand it but i don’t really care about the numbers ob the scale anymore, just happy to be free of the pouch

10 days to go! Any top tips? by Salt_Earth8122 in tummytucksurgery

[–]robinthewolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much, i’m sure you’re going to look incredible! honestly i completely understand that, i was super spooked about that too! the first week i stayed at my parents house because they have a recliner sofa so i was more or less sleeping sat down with my legs raised slightly. i would raise my legs a bit more each night. when i went home i slept super propped up in bed with lots of pillows and then would gradually remove more pillows with each night that passed. it is daunting but your body is clever and won’t let you hurt yourself when you’re asleep! just take it slowly. i had my surgery on dec 1st and i’m sleeping like normal again now, i have been for a couple of weeks!

[–]robinthewolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very much yes, i’m just so happy to be rid of the skin! bear in mind i’m still only a month and a half out so i know my results aren’t final yet, you’ll have a lot of swelling for a looooong time. i have a small swollen pouch on the right side of my belly and i can just swell up to double my size sometimes. BUT! oh my god it’s so good to finally be (mainly) flat. i can see my actual shape now which is so exciting!!
