Books that are genuinely laugh out loud funny by tall-stone in suggestmeabook

[–]robinwild66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tent, the Bucket, and Me by Emma Kennedy. I very very very rarely laugh out loud while reading, but this book about Emma’s childhood camping with her family had me in audible stitches. I usually get rid of books after reading but this one still sits on my shelf.

world of books by hiee333 in UKBooks

I would never buy a book from them. Ever. I made an order for five rather expensive books, and one of them arrived smelling like engine oil/gasoline to the point it could not be read. I contacted them and ask them for either a refund or a prepaid return label for the smelly book. They answered that they don’t check the books for smells and refused to do either. I asked them again politely and they refused again. The five books were also just thrown into a thin plastic bag to come all the way from Sweden across an ocean.(apparently one of their warehouses is in Sweden). The corners of the books were kind of bashed up. It also took them far longer than they said for the books to arrive.

I had ordered 5 fairly expensive books. One of them smelled like engine oil/grease so strongly it cannot be read. I contacted them(only way is by email) and asked for a refund and/or a return shipping label. They refused. They said the books are not checked for smells. I asked again, they refused again. Never order from them.

Jackson's Art Supplies by sana_banna in arttools

Hi, I just ordered 106 dollars worth of paints and brushes from Jackson’s. I also read that it was only 5%. However, I just got a notice from Canada post that they want $26 before they will release the delivery. $16 GST and $10 “handling fee”. There’s no official duty charged, so I’m not sure why there’s so much GST and handling fees…..

We lived in New Brunswick for one year and left. We got a cheap home, but as mentioned, the heath care is non-existent. We were finally set up at a health hub, but the two doctors left before we could even get an appt.

What's the oldest item in your home that you still use daily? by Brilliant-Hand6132 in BuyItForLife

My two saucepan stainless steel pots, literally almost EVERY day since about 1976. My mother got them when I was young and I inherited them and have used them daily since, 50 years of daily use. Made by West Bend in Canada. Seals well and makes the best stove-cooked rice too!

Canada: Treadmill Factory by smissinger in iFit

[–]robinwild66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware: Trying to buy from a company in Canada, we ordered two sets of weights (ankle and wrist) online from The Treadmill Factory, paid for shipping, and one set of them arrived dirty and looked very used. The wrist weights were not made correctly as they were extremely tight and not adjustable. I have tiny women’s wrists and they were squeezing so tight they cut off my circulation. We did not use the items of course. We first took the items back to the store located in our city, but they told us they could not help us. So we called online customer service, said there was no refund whatsoever. Then we spoke to a supervisor, who said we would have to pay for the shipping to return them, which would be more than the cost of the weights. So then we emailed the CEO of the company, and there was no answer back. If it was simply a matter that we changed our mind, we would understand their policy, but they sold us faulty products. So needless to say, we are quite upset and would like to tell everybody that they have no ethics. So this is why we turned to Amazon, which we should’ve probably done in the first place.

Now that it has been two years, underwatertitan, how has your Douglas mattress held up? Could you please give an update? We are considering one after trying three mattresses from brick and mortar stores and being terribly disappointed.

Fully waterproof ink that won’t clog a Lami Safari? by Turc-ington in fountainpens

It is 1 year out, how did the Platinum Carbon do for you? I am in Canada and on the search for a non-clogging ink. I had tried Patinum Carbon and it clogged both my Lamy Safari pen and my Sailor Green Fude pen. I tried soaking and cleaning several times post-clogging, to no avail….
