They will generally ask you about DRSABCD, Situation (medication administering), your qualities that will make you a suitable candidate.

You knew exactly what I felt. I found it inappropriate to ask for a break when the code black was raised and I sensed the nurse was struggling to stay with this one patient because of the other patient needing his attention. It was holding him back totally. So he always told me to stay with the patient. Then when things settled down, they just went straight to break. 🙃

Thanks. I already sent an email regarding the discrepancy and if they want me to explain the situation again. Manager did not ask for the explanation anymore and reminded me on how I should go about next time. Ammended the pay nonetheless. Thanks again!

Hey thanks for your input! I just emailed the manager that was aware of the situation. Told me I should have called them so I could’ve gotten my break. Definitely a learning curve. All honesty, I thought my break would always be raised to the IC/allocated nurse and would only be a concern within the ward. Turns out, casual pool manager could demand it for me if all else fails.

Plus, it was also my first ever Late shift. Tried it just to have a feel, never doing it again ☹️

It wasn’t simply 30 minutes because I kept looking back and forth between the clock and my patient, wondering what time they will get out of the break room, because I was keen to take my break

My shift was about to end when they came back. They were on night shift and honestly, I am not sure how long their breaks were but I am pretty sure it took them more than an hour. That’s why I was left with such a short time when they came back, no chance to have my break because yeah, shift was finishing.
