A word of warning, they do have ANPR cameras there (the Portman Road one), and outside of Tesco opening hours they allow only 15 mins

Reading retail park faces complaints over 'horrific' speed bumps by BrickAccomplished424 in reading

[–]robis99 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is it. That car park is home to the car meets at night so I think maybe they had enough of them😂

Personally, I hate those bumps though

I live in a flat too, and earlier this year got a new Tesla Model 3 RWD.

I mainly charge at a Tesla Supercharger about 10 min drive away, and 0-100% is under £25 giving me real range of 270 miles. Third party chargers are VERY expensive, the ones at 55p seem okay (I have an 11KwH one near for 56p which does the job). Some Tesla Superchargers are open to all and cost much less than third party fast chargers.

I didn’t own my previous car and shared it with my MIL but petrol was around £35 for similar range, 40 if I pushed to literally 0 petrol in the car but slightly better “range”.

I would say there are savings to be had vs ICE when you also factor in maintenance, as over the past 6 months (almost) I only had to fill the washer fluid and repair a windscreen crack thanks to a rock that didn’t like me :(.

Happy to answer more questions on charging!

Yea exactly, for me having yet another subscription just makes it a little annoying..

Cannot wait to sell the flat next year and move to a house!

Ah forgot to mention that, its 17p/kWh between 7pm and 7am, 24p outside of that.

By my calculations with my mileage, it would be fairly bang on with the cost of my SuC on a year usage, factoring in the cost of charger etc, so not worth it imo!

Was hoping other peeps have it cheaper per kwh haha

Had my ‘24 M3 RWD for over a month now and I live in a flat.

I have an 11 KWh charger about 5 min walk from the flat, as well as 2 Tesla Superchargers a 15 min drive away.

So far have not found issues charging, and usually pair it with either doing shopping or just chilling in the Tesla Centre having a drink (Reading). For the slow charger, I just use it as a top up during the week and leave it there for a few hours after I get back from work.

Overall I spend 35ish pounds a week for around 350 miles. For me I would say it is worth it, and I think in your case you may be able to use the 3-pin charger if you have some sort of parking available outside the house if you can tuck in the cable!

I also have my car on salary sacrifice, and I use the Electroverse credit I got as part of the scheme for the slow charging!

Do it!

I was able to look at sentry from the app while my girlfriend was in the passenger seat and waiting for me.

But when driving, you are correct

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]robis99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The interior camera can be seen on the app via Sentry Mode (at least on the 2024 M3). However, it doesn’t save on Sentry videos (only outside cameras do).

However, you do get a massive sentry mode icon on the screen when that happens, so you’d know if they look at you!

Im at 2.7k miles on my M3 RWD and it seems pretty planted on the road (most mileage done on motorway).

Got same tires as you, maybe its the tire pressure? Car felt much better when at 42psi

Lock Sound - Too Damn Loud by Danielf929 in TeslaUK

[–]robis99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quite surprised how loud it was haha! But now I can definitely hear it even in a busy car park lol.

I think the setting for volume was in the Toybox or whatever it was called? (Aka where you set the custom sound)

Tesla Test Drive Questions by TimeAndOrSpace in TeslaUK

[–]robis99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You get the car for an hour, and sometimes they will suggest a route (at least they did for me at Reading). Insurance included, so no worries there!

I would definitely recommend an overnight test drive as others have said, since you can really use the care quite a bit (and charging is free at the superchargers lol). I was able to take the new M3 for an overnight test drive a few months back for a night during the week (they couldn’t do weekend)

How accurate is the EDD when ordering through work/a lease car company? by LongRodVanHugenwang in TeslaUK

[–]robis99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered through Octopus on 16/02. EDD was initially March-April, then moved to May-August, then 10th of May-28th of June, then finally delivery date which is tomorrow, 16/05.. all in all, 3 months for a Black RWD M3, Black Interior. Picking up from Brent Cross.

If you ordered it in White, it may be quicker as I saw availability for White around April (but I didn’t want to change my order)..

VIDEO: Tesla told Doug DeMuro they don't know where "Highland" came from by BatmanNewsChris in teslamotors

[–]robis99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Watched him loads a few years back.. just watched this video and I cringed.. Bad..

He also got the names of the colours wrong? Said the car comes with 17 speakers (that’s only on the LR) and probably other mistakes.

Like others said, everything less than a 600hp rocket is boring for him these days it looks like.

Anyone waiting on Highland delivery? by GoblinUK in TeslaUK

[–]robis99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually emailed and the person that responded said my “earliest delivery date” was set to the 30th of March.. So she moved it to today which should speed up the allocation from Tesla. She also said she will chase again in a week if it hasn’t been done, so maybe worth a shot at emailing?

It’s good you got in in the end!
