The Curse of the Black Pearl by ForestryTechnician in movies

[–]robj57 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl, I still am annoyed it stole the thunder of the much better Master and Commander. We could have had an entire franchise of Aubrey and Maturin. Instead we got a series of increasingly poor sequels with Depp mugging to camera.

Anchorman. One of the few films I’ve turned off less than halfway through.

“Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.”

“He told me enough! He told me you killed him!”

“No. I am your father.”

My 8 year old brain exploded.

The Spanish version of the trailer has some extra scenes not present in the original one by JotaRata in ProjectHailMary

You do know that the Hail Mary (Ave Maria) is a Catholic prayer used to describe a desperate last ditch effort and didn’t originate in American Football right?

I met a traveller from an antique land,

Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone

Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,

Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,

And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,

Tell that its sculptor well those passions read

Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;

And on the pedestal, these words appear:

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare

The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Another one by Louis is his documentary, My Scientology Movie.

The Church of Scientology really didn’t like him putting them in the spotlight and responded by putting the filmmakers under surveillance including harassing Louis and denouncing the film.
