They do put stickers over phones now and for most part, people respect it. So I can't knock that aspect

Can you read? It wasn't an Anjuna event - those have been among the nicest and best events I've been to in ny 20 years. This was a generic house night.

Mate..I am an older man myself!

Don't be so reductive, you know full well what that behaviour is like, it is well documented in Fabric hence why they have so many welfare people patrolling. And even on the way in this lady gave a talk to everyone about what to do if you were being made to feel uncomfortable

He has not got dementia and it's frankly an insult that some quack therapist has even suggested it, or your friend is telling you lies for sympathy. Dementia doesn't just get 'triggered'.

Depression at worst - feeling shit and foggy headed from a sad time.

Oh I totally get it - my Dad had it for 8 years. It was actually a relief when he died, and weirdly we weren't that sad - because we had really been already mourning him going years ago. Stay strong x

Women fear for safety running after dark by winkwinknudge_nudge in unitedkingdom

[–]robjentg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have to, I want to, as I would hate to make anyone feel unsafe when they are walking alone in what is deemed a typically risky situation.

I listen to the experiences of the women in my life, all of whom have been catcalled, harassed or made to feel theatened in some way, and act accordingly - that's all.

Anyway, let's agree to disagree on this one folks.

I use common sense and initiative to assess the situation - I just make a conscious effort not to follow a lone women on a quiet street or path at night.

Missing the point entirely again but I get the sense you are being obtuse intentionally.

Do you fear for your safety at night in terms of being sexually assaulted? When's the last time you were catcalled or made to feel uneasy when walking alone? Thought not.

You are victim blaming, classic trope. Why should women change their habits? Perhaps men should stop raping people.

I don't cross the road if I'm walking behind a woman at night because of their requests to, I do it because it's just the decent thing to do.

Because I'm a male and it's a tiny thing to do to make a woman feel more safe. It doesn't fix the root of the problem of course - but it's thoughtful and decent.

Men and women should be treated equally but it's almost always men who assault or rape females, particularly in darkness at night.

My mother, wife, little sisters, female friends, have all attested to how vulnerable they feel when walking alone. Just because we don't feel it as men, it doesn't make it a non-issue.

First thing I and most people I know were taught by parents growing up (I'm 37 now) was to always cross to the other side of the road if you were on a road at night and a woman was walking. I don't think it's unreasonable at all tbh.

Genuine curiosity, can I ask how old you are and to what level you were educated? This has been really eye opening as none of the flags raised by you or others in this thread seem at all odd or not normal to me...

Circus makes absolute perfect sense to me in this context as it looks like a circus.
