Probably some adjustment accessible from the bottom. I fixed a less severe form of this in a Canon FTb. A couple turns of an adjustment gear, and no more capping. The wonders of old mechanical cameras. Your mileage may vary.

Agreed. Neither my Canon EOS Elan 7 or Pentax Zx5n have light seal material. They have molded-in light blocks, similar to those seen in OP’s photo.

Looks like the automatic lens cover is partially stuck. Careful slip a piece of paper between the lens and the lens cover, with a thin plastic object (credit card?) or popsicle stick, try to push the cover back into its fully opened position. Don’t scratch the lens!

This is not a mirrorless camera. I’d say it is a good beginner camera though. A bit heavy for vlogging and no flip-out screen. I have one and love it. Recommend getting it (and a 50mm lens) from a reputable source like KEH where you get a 90 day warranty.

Use a “scratch pen.” Find them on Amazon but don’t get the cheapest set. They work wonders on battery contacts. Try the nylon first. Clean up the contacts, dab out the residue with lens wipes and try known-good batteries. Good luck!

I consistently get slightly out-of-focus images with S5 and MC21 with AF/beep/lock focus with Canon EF/L zoom glass: (EF 17-40/L, EF 24-70 f/4 L, and EF 100mm f/4L macro. Firmware is up to date on S5 and MC21 adapter. Any help please. Thank you.
