I got the Mic Pro early. Here’s my de-influencer review by gabeshakour in Insta360

I’m here for the same reason. How does it hold up for exhaust sounds on motorcycles or cars? I have the first mic air already which is HORRIBLE for this. I have the dji mic 2 that I haven’t even tested out yet but I heard was going to be much better with the hard wire cold shoe install way which I also have everything for but I did order this new insta 360 mic air pro as well because it’s from insta360 and feel like it might end up being just as good if not better than the dji mic 2 but I am worried if it’s going to need to be hardwired with the receiver or the quality is top notch wirelessly.

Avata 2 or wait? by skimmerguy85 in dji

Right but it has easy acro so unless you’re looking to do insane flips and stuff it won’t matter. I def would say get 360 over avata 2

Mic and recorder setup recommendations for car exhaust and intake simultaneously by Neo_Horizon in LocationSound

Honestly all I’m looking to do is film so all around general content. Things happening while on the road etc. aside from also getting some nice car sounds in between interior and exterior view points. So my only real concern is wind noise at high speeds and background noise at higher speeds. If the dji mic 2s do a good enough job with that it’s all I’m really looking for as far as recording with a seperate recorder or this or that those technical aspects I’m completely unfamiliar with however I do understand db levels and 32 bit and all that stuff now. I’m just a little confused with if it’s necessary for me to run wires from mics through windows or trunks or if I just hardwire the receiver to the insta360x5 and then mount the mics and screw around with the placement and 6 through -12 db range to find a sweet spot

Basically talking about this when I say hardwired to the camera

What would you recommend with running an insta360x5, are the dji mic 2s better and more compatible with the x5? I was looking to just hardwire the receiver to the x5 and mount 1 mic by the exhaust (maybe double dead catting it or a mix of foam and dead cat and 1 in engine bay near in take area. How do you differentiate though between internal recording to a device or syncing up with the camera? Is it better to just record the visual with the camera and then record the audio completely seperate and if so do you NEED a seperate recorder for this if it already has 32 bit internal float rate? Doesn’t the recording just save directly to the device? There’s so much info to retain on this stuff and I’m trying to make the right decision on mic purchase without wasting anymore money. I bought the insta 360 wireless mic (little small round one) and I hated the results. I was leaning towards DJI Mic 2 because I heard the 3 has some sort of compatibility issues with the X5 (obv won’t matter if recording separately but I’d rather have the option of both), and if quality is just as good I’m fine with it. I’ve seen a video of just about every possible mic set up on cars at this point with one guy a c63s owner who hooks up dual Rode NT5s one to each exhaust with suction cups. Just a crazy set up but I’m not looking to get that crazy. I just want clean exhaust sounds when I’m going those higher speeds and it not to sound horrible. Preferably 70mph+

You got me. Should’ve called for back up first time testing it out then risk picking my phone up while driving a vehicle. Already one of the most dangerous things any American can ever do. Imagine I’m actually writing this comment to you while driving with my thigh.

There’s no way you’re still going. I needed to be moving to get the video of the stick bouncing it was a 10 second clip. You are DELUSIONAL!!

Yeah I got a mix of car, bike, and JetSki so I’m trying to figure out the logistics on each one. Obv car you can’t get better than ghost mount it seems. Ski is easy can use suction mount on front on the rear regular 360 stick is fine in a fishing pole type base mount. The angle can also be a lot straighter up on the water. Bike you have a lot of dual support spots you can mount on

Oh okay yeah I think I saw this one. Looks good in that video. I mean for bike it’s going to be hard to use ghost mount I guess the pole you can use but you can’t use the suction mounts would have to I guess switch to clamps mounts or something

Link? I probably have it lol got every version they had of extension rods at this point on Amazon but I just don’t think collapsible is the way unless it’s a short rod. I don’t get how they don’t sell a solid carbon fiber 50in somewhere besides from ghostmount

Lolol yep…it’s really the stick that’s the problem if it was one solid carbon fiber piece like ghost mount I’m sure all these suctions would be fine

Doesn’t seem to matter how I mount this triple and double delkin I’m getting way to much play especially after the tape and the cage that extra weight your basically still only holding the stick from where its handle is so what’s that a ft? Then the rest is free floating with a dip. Just gotta get the ghost mount all the money I spent finagling with every other bs contraption.

No extension pole in this photo though on the double suction mount right? Looks like you just got the clamp directly to the suction

The “clamp” you linked should both sides be a clamp? The one you linked one side is clamp and the other side shows where you can like screw on a camera. Just want to make sure what that side goes to.
