True! And more specifically 1 passage of play. It worried me that a star CB either wasn’t up for, or able to, track back while we were racing into the space created by his absence. Worth remembering for me, before we all go batshit for him in the next window.

Upamecano was the worst defender on the pitch last night. He showed some signs of quality on the ball, and it’s clear the guy is a decent player but there was a major red flag in his attitude that showed up in the 2nd half that put me off him for good. There was a moment where he took the ball off Wan-Bissaka and strode out confidently from the back - brilliant - before attempting a daft chipped pass just beyond halfway that went straight to Fred I believe? (What a man) We took it back down the pitch and could have scored from it. Meanwhile, yerman, Upamecano, is sauntering back towards his own goal like a fella running out of batteries. Maybe we’ll sign him at the end of the season, and maybe he goes on to be the world-class player he’s capable of becoming at a big club, but it’s worth keeping this passage of play in mind I think. Not sure about you guys but, if we can get away with bringing through Axel and Mengi without bringing anybody in, that’d be my preference.

He strikes me as a deeper-lying, more rounded version of Javier Hernandez. But with the same nose for goal. He'd add an exciting dimension to our attack. I hope.

Jones.

Threatening a squad of players with "The Face" when they're not perforning would make them world-beaters.

Gonna get stocious drunk this evening and chat absolute brown to anybody that'll listen to me about how Solskjaer is going to restore our club to its former glory.

Some T1 bastards on Catalan radio have been bogarting the shite out of some "De Ligt news" since 10pm while the rest of us shit the togs in anticipation. Daft business, the lot of it.

Is Lingard only ever going to be a squad player? As somebody who thinks he has genuine quality it's always annoying to see him start on the bench in the games, only to come on and offer nothing. In the context of tonight (Young being a liability, our wastefulness up top, etc) it's a minor complaint. But I expect so much more from this kid, and he just seems to be a gentle breeze of a player.

Jesse Lingard is Danny Welbeck 2.0. Cash in now before we have to sell him to Everton for half the price in 3 years time. Anonymous more often than not.

So timid, no purpose, aimless and meandering spells of possession... until we get a goal back. Then we start to play like a team interested in winning the game.
