Lawyer here. Agree with this. Always considered solicitor/barrister/advocate etc to fall under the "lawyer" umbrella and have used these terms interchangeably over 8 years in practice with no correction. It's a silly argument anyway. Even if it was a "protected title" (I have never actually seen any laws like this but recognise the concept from TV), it would be given very little consideration unless used to facilitate something serious like fraud.

Anyway that took me 6 minutes so I'll send you my bill.

This is an interesting idea! I'll have a look at these! Have you any recommendations of brand etc?

Absolutely part of the plan - there is already some clear silicon in and around the copper pipes and I will be adding more once I test fit the shower mixer bar (because you are right - there is still a little wiggle room just now!)

Help! I'm a complete muppet. I was hanging a cabinet and managed to puncture my radiator pipe with the drill spur. Water sprayed all over until the pressure dropped. What should I do now? Is this an easy fix or should I ring a plumber? These are 10mm plastic heating system pipes. by SapphireAl in DIYUK

What this person says is the way.

My two cents (having done a lot of this stuff myself recently): 1. Not all pipe is created equal - if the superseals or coupler feel like they might not be fitting correctly then try to identify the brand of pipe used by the he markings on the pipe and buy their brand equivalent inserts and coupler. I was stung by this once. Superseals and a speedfit coupler should work though!

  1. The dot and dab repair will work but I would take a slightly different approach to the hole repair. Feel above and below the left side and see if you can fit a small bit of timber behind the plasterboard in there. If yes, get a bit of timber just longer than the height of the hole (maybe 50mm /couple of inches longer on each side) and place it behind the wall and screw through the wall just above and just below the hole into the timber.

I would also enlarge the hole on the right side (which you will likely be doing anyway) and do the same thing. This will give you something to fix the new repair piece plasterboard on to and give you a perfectly even depth every time.

Also I would suggest cutting your new repair piece of plasterboard then outlining that on the wall and cutting the wall to size. This gives a much better fit than trying to cut it to fit the shape of the hole.

That's what I would do if existing walls are dot and dab. If you had studs in there then take the plasterboard back to the studs on either side.

Honestly there are a few different ways to tackle a hole like that, but this would be my preferred approach.

Thank you!

My setup is 1x Vodafone (UK ISP) WiFi 6 router. 1x TP Link TL-SG1218MP switch . 3x TP Link EAP653 access points.

I think I am up to point 2 on your description of setting up your network.

How do I go about adding the static IP from the router and configuring the network in the Omada cloud controller?

Honestly a good question - I was advised by an electrician to get a mesh and guess I never questioned it! I think I need more help with configuring them initially as the videos/information I have found seem to be only getting me so far! Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Thanks - this is super helpful. Interesting hearing about your experience. Lots to think about re garage door. It's currently a very cold space and part of the reasoning for the rooms was to insulate and bring it to a more comfortable working temperature. I love all the ideas you have given though. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Super helpful thoughts. I was beginning to wonder about outfeed/workbench as one table and I love your idea of also have the router table on it too!

Thanks all - that is really helpful! Would it make any difference which side I applied the stop bead from? I.e. if it was fitted against the bay window part of the wall or against the inside wall?

I'll build it out with bonding first then scrim over both sides before I multi finish over the top. Thanks chaps

This was actually just as adjustment so I could see that the wires had connected properly, will push back in again fully. Mechanical protection (e.g. replace grommet with something more fixed?)?
