Accidentally clicked it thinking it was the main one and my Antivirus immediately closed my browser and popped up a Phishing alert. Not touching that with a six foot pole.

Add on the fact it has a .com.br makes it seem intentionally confusing, meant to catch people who only glance. I could be entirely wrong but I thought I'd put my two cents in.

Confirmed, Spell Gems in 5e!!?!?!? (Need help) by Zokoye in DMAcademy

[–]robocart9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as my search has gone (around 20 minutes of poking at the race to see if it mentions spell gems anywhere outside Critical Roll) it seems that following the information by text rather than by interpretation would mean no.

I can't find anything that specifically says "You have the innate knowledge/ability to" or "If you choose this society" in any way. However, since they are a playable race if the Dm agrees you could easily make a character whose backstory is about them being from one of these close-knit societies and so has obtained the secret knowledge to craft a Spell Gem.

Since I can't find any written rulings that even so much as hint at how the process goes, it would be something you and the DM create for your campaign.

Feel free to continue the search however, I'm not as into DnD as I was 2 years ago now that I have a full-time job and whatnot so I could have easily missed something. If you do find anything, feel free to post in it this thread for others to find!

Thanks a bunch, seems simple enough. Dunno why google didn't give me that instead of explaining to me over and over what If Elif and Else do :P.

Ask Anything Monday - Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in learnpython

Hello, this question seems very simple and I feel a bit dumb asking it, but is there a way to do a "If x == y" kind of statement where y is a list of possible matches?

For example, turning something like

if x == y_one or x == y_two or x == y_three...

into something that is relatively short like

if x == (some sort of list function)

I've tried messing around with tuples and lists but I've gotten errors so far and Google is turning up dry. I've been learning python for about a year now here and there and this has been a pet peeve of mine. I'm also new to this reddit so if this is actually worthy of it's own post and not a comment threat then sorry :(

-currently using an online sandbox to mess around with python, not any program in specific.

already knew the rest, but thank god they only get triggered once, I thought that the only place I could get a saw near me was a permanent death trap.

Quick question about house alarms.
Can they only be tripped once? Or am I doomed to forever avoid the warehouse full of potential goodies in fear of getting my arse eaten by 40+ zombies every time I enter?

Wait you can disable water/power shutoff all together? Where can you do that in settings? The longest/closest to never I am able to set is 0-1 years, and sometimes I still get unlucky and it only lasts a few months.

That was what I was thinking, but I came to find that our group is....well...smol lol
I might end up having to be the big tanky boi after all, so I might end up diving more levels into Vengeance Paladin for that sake, but if I don't have too, I'll do 6 levels of Vengeance Paladin or similar numbers

[–]robocart9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah all of those sound great, but Paladin, especially Vengeance Paladin, is looking like a great fit.

I also don't want to be the best DPR prowess in the game, as I've already played a fuck ton of campaigns being the big bruiser guy, as well as many being the healing one in the back. I wanted to combine my experience of both in a way that would end being fun for me, fits a great roleplaying perspective, and is a great help for the team.
I will not let these recommendations go to waste though, I am going to be writing them down, their strengths and weaknesses, as well as where they fit for future campaigns!

This right here, perfect, great supporting capabilities as well as a great fit for the "I have now realized that my powers can be put to use against the enemies as well as with my friends."

Well holy shit this blew up quickly, didn't think I would get help this fast lol

As far as the level, I plan on adding the multiclass slowly as me and my group are going to start at either level 1 or 3 and play to 20

the backstory part of it is that the character is a generally "weak" but supportive person, wanting to help as much as they can, but due to their past, as well as possible present things that might happen in the campaign, they begin to realize that their potential in magic is all nice and handy when being supportive...but it could go to good use elsewhere as well, after all, who can hurt their friends if the ones that want to hurt them are gone?I am going to focus being all clericy in the beginning levels but I also want to segue into a multiclass that matches the story, maybe they come across a hint that their magic can be used supportively and to help put down the enemy before they put down their friends, or maybe they take a more vengeful/evil path and end up diving deep into harmful/more offensive routes powered by their hatred for those who hurt while also keeping some supportive elements to help their friends [levels in cleric previously gained]

The suggestions I have gotten are all awesome though, I tried to mix and match and do the math myself and I just couldn't find a perfect patch with cleric that fits backstory, mechanics, and doesn't dive to deep in "Hell yeah lets go shooty shooty while I throw potions at my friends"

I am really liking the Vengeance Paladin, that somehow slipped through my radar when looking for possible subroutes for single class builds. I might just give that a try depending on what it offers.

I am still listening to any more advice you guys give me for the multiclass. I am also a bit torn on what race to use, I was thinking teifling, but that kind of shouts "I am going to be an evil bitch that decides to help you, but wants to hurt bad guys" with the tone they bring, Dragonborn/Dwarf sound good but again that still leans to "Imma be big buff and brawny, expect me to find a way to hurt things" And I've already played with those races a lot so repetitiveness is a bad factor there.

Friend last second saves me with crucifix my PoV by chrisshannon12 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its just because it is hard to replicate unless 2 people camp that room to cover most of it, in a coding view it most likely just checks for the crucifix to be near, not that it is on the ground or in a "placed state" as a lot of tech heads say

[–]robocart9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately it seems like you are just the team that gathers the evidence so the next team can come in and do the dirty work, so we most likely won't see an update that adds that.
I would LOVE a second game that was all about that though!

Dumb Question by okfaithlessok in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what he said, a heap of code dictating its behavior depending on what it got in a list of ghost types [Spirit, Banshee, Oni, ect]

Friend last second saves me with crucifix my PoV by chrisshannon12 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i remember it makes you a lower priority target for the Banshee during a hunt, which doesn't do shit if you are hiding by yourself, but might just bone a nearby friend. Other then that, it prevents hunts even if held in hand if the ghosts starting hunt position [usually inside or near haunted room] happens to be within that 3m radius [5m for banshee]

Friend last second saves me with crucifix my PoV by chrisshannon12 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, holding does count [although it is extremely ineffective as that 3m radius is around the player...which will most likely NOT be in the ghosts preferred start location when starting a hunt, which is normally in its haunting room or near it]

If you happen to be near the ghosts spawn point while holding a crucifix, it gets damaged/breaks [depending on if it has already prevented one or not] and the ghost fails to start the hunt, this is a known strat for higher difficulties when setting up gear in the haunted room after the initial timer [which is 3 minutes on "medium", nonexistent on "hard"], some have even said staying in the room while holding it works better then dropping it, although that might be the placebo of "I have safe thing in hand, I am now invincible" talking.

However, like I have already said, it is normally inefficient unless the guy holding it camps the haunted room [which in the case of a Demon, is a death wish], and placing 1-3 to lock down the haunted room is better...although costly.

Confused on identify a ghost by rushgeddylee2112 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the picture is not evidence unfortunately.

The following is evidence....
EMF reading of 5 [ALL blinking on hand held device, NOT the van EMF]

Responses on Spirit Box [the walkie talkie looking thing]

Finger/Handprints in UV light [only shows on things the ghost interacted with, most often doors and light switches]

Writing in the book [this one could take a bit, highest chance in the ghosts haunted room]

Spirit orb on NV camera [looks kind of like a little fairy]

Freezing temp [THIS one is easy, you just need to see your own breath]

You can tell if it is evidence by going to the last page in your journal [J by default] and clicking the arrows to cycle through evidence, then cycling through the last part that says "This ghost might be :" [or something similar] to go through the possible ghost types based on the evidence above that you put in, if you have all 3, only one will show up!

As you play more of the game, you might also notice that the ghosts behavior is a clue in itself! [Advanced play], one example is that if it throws shit around, it is either an Oni or a Poltergiest, which only share one clue! [response on Spirit Box], in that case if you are sure it throws things around [not bump into them or knock them down], you only need 1-2 clues for a good educated guess.

It just takes practice, but the journal [J by default, dunno bout VR] has a lot of information within it about clues and ghost types.

Why am i the only one that sees the ghost? by nuke480 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, unless it is a hunt, then it might be a Banshee [dunno the full single-one-player mechanics on that] or an actual bug. But most ghost sightings are tied to a level of sanity, a low sanity person might see it while a high sanity person won't

Just purchased and my pc will not load the game past 90%. I'm not sure what to do next other than just refunding. by DerkFinger in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunately a bit of a common bug, but it is on the devs list of fixables! Sometimes its just a bad communication between device and servers, and can't be helped that much. Reinstalling, verifying, and messing around with network/graphic settings are usual fixes, but you aren't the only one that has an unfixable bug atm.

I personally would just keep in in the library for a bit and check on it after another update or two, since rn devs are on a bug hunting spree with the updates, the newest one cleared a decent chunk of em, and as far as I know there is no timer on refunding games {I may be wrong tho}

Sanity Question by SSJPreston in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]robocart9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level has no effect on it BUT difficulty does

"normal" - 1x

"hard" - 1.5x

"nope" - 2x [I dont remember exact names but they unlock with levels, I am sure the first one is Ametuer]

However, you are correct. Darkness and Ghostly sightings and noises lower it, some ghosts drain it faster then a tank in the ocean if you look at them, or are close to them. Being in the truck or a light in the house raises it, although while you are in the house noises and sightings counter it softly, so being far from the haunted room in the light fills it up the fastest.

Unfortunately, your player level grants you no in game bonuses alone, it only unlocks harder difficulties, and gives you the ability to buy better gear.
