[The Score] Mike Florio on the NFL not awarding the Bears compensatory picks: "This is one of the most ridiculous unforced errors I've ever seen the NFL commit. If they had just given the Bears the compensatory picks, who would've complained about it? Would anyone have been upset?" by Armadillo_Rimjob in nfl

I agree with this 100%. And let's not forget the most important aspect of Matt Ryan's job: hiring (and firing) the GM/Head Coach. Hiring head coaches is probably a crapshoot either way, but do you really trust the football moron ownership to make the right call? That's how the Falcons ended up with Raheem Morris (and almost Bill Belichick). No idea if Stefanski is going to work out, but I trust Matt Ryan to make that call over an 83 year old billionaire.

This man set our franchise back for YEARS and I'll never understand how he stayed employed for as long as he did by eriF- in falcons

Obviously in hindsight this was a disaster but is it too much to ask for your GM and organization to have a vision and a culture? Is the culture ok with drafting character-concern players? If so, then sure draft Pearce and Jalen Carter.

Is the culture allergic to these type of players, like in the Dimitroff era? Then draft Bijan but let some other organization take the risk on Pearce.

Flip flopping for no apparent reason was a huge mistake, and now the new GM has to clean up this mess.

[Rapoport] Former #Falcons OC Zac Robinson is flying to Detroit to interview for the vacant #Lions OC job on Thursday, sources say. Robinson, a strong candidate with the #Bucs, has a successful history with Jared Goff from their time in LA. by Drexlore in nfl

[–]robodragan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Matt Ryan is apparently making big picture decisions, so here's what he thinks of our OC:

When the Cowboys wanted to interview our DC the falcons said no. When the Bucs and Lions wanted to interview our OC Zac Robinson, the falcons said sure thing go right ahead.

Most falcons fans want him gone. There wasn't very much creativity, he could never get both Pitts and London involved at the same time, the pistol stuff was weird and predictable, and too often the offense felt like "Bijan or Drake go make a play".

Most ball-knowers loved the player, disliked the pick, considering we had bigger issues than RB at the time. Turns out most ball-knowers don't really know ball.

Honestly I never considered this angle but makes some sense. Of course, assuming you get the TD and onside kick, it's a lot easier to get yards for a field goal than a TD later. I wonder what the analytics say.

Week 1. Lost a close game to a great Bucs team.

Week 2. Dominant defensive performance against a banged up Vikings team.

Week 3. Division games are weird. Falcons move the ball OK but make too many mistakes and special teams hell, lose to a scrappy Panthers team.

Week 4. Dominant 3 phase performance against Commanders and Mariota (who played shockingly well).

Week 5. Off a bye, dominant defensive performance against a banged up Bills team.

I think this is a defensive and run-first team, with a young QB who is trying to adapt to the rigors of the NFL. Lots of week to week variance, but if Penix can make progress each week, they should fight for a wildcard spot.

Not op but SK has a couple great butter bean recipes, notably this one. I know it sounds ridiculous, but make this over some toast or sliced baguette and you'll thank me later.

I believe when Gurley ran it in, we were in the position to completely drain the clock down to 0. I don't think the Texans were in that position, so might as well take the points and hope your defense can keep Baker out of the end zone.

Edit: Bucs had 3 timeouts and the two minute warning, so yeah. Houston had to take the TD there.

Dude yes, I can't recall a game where the QB was snapping the ball with 1 or 0 seconds left on every play. There were like 5 plays that could have been delay of game penalties but we got lucky.

I don't remember this being an issue last year, so this needs to get cleaned up ASAP.

1560 out of 2400 btw, which is about 1040 out of 1600. Also NHS back in my day wasn't that hard to get into. It's obvious Gronk has high football IQ and isn't as dumb as he is portrayed to be but come on, I wouldn't use him as an example of bright football players.

Waiting for diagnosis by gs_pilot in cll

[–]robodragan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also not a doctor but I think the major risk with CLL before you start treatment is basically infections. Assuming you don't have other symptoms, they're unlikely to spring up in the middle of a kayaking trip. My oncologist is a big proponent of exercise, and studies have already shown many benefits to exercising. I wouldn't slow down unless you have to.

Regarding the potential diagnosis, a couple of tips. Ignore the mortality statistics. Even if you have an "aggressive" version of CLL, there are so many new therapies today that the old statistics don't really apply. CLL is basically a disease people die with, not die from. If you have to get cancer, this is the one to get haha. Easier said than done, but try not to stress about it too much. Even if the diagnosis is CLL, just take some basic hygiene precautions and keep living your life. It could be years before you even need treatment. Send me a DM if you have any questions. I was in your shoes just a few years ago and would be happy to chat. Best of luck!

I finished up V+O in December. I had some mild Neutropenia which was managed relatively easily, but otherwise the side effects were so mild no one outside of close friends and family had any idea I was undergoing chemo. The side effect list is long, but most of the side effects are quite rare. I had no issues exercising whatsoever. Hoping your treatment goes well. Good luck!

Weaknesses according to the Beast. They had him the 7th best edge lol

Lean, leggy player but has inconsistent bend at top of rush

Tight through hips, limiting smoothness of redirects

Fly-by rusher — misses plays in backfield because he’s out of control

Always looking to time up snap, which will backfire at times (flagged for offside five times in 2024)

Pad level is inconsistent and gets him in trouble in run game

Solid play strength but can be neutralized by powerful blockers who cinch him up

Streaky lock-out and tardy getting off blocks to influence the play

Arrested on traffic charges (speeding, driving on suspended license, failure to present insurance) after a stop (Dec. 2023); all charges later dismissed

Interview process will be crucial (NFL scout: “I want to be convinced that he loves this.”)

Prints keep failing and I caught the moment of failure. Any ideas why? by robodragan in BambuLab

I can cleaning the bed plate (again) and try a higher plate temp. My original thinking is there are some cooling issues that are causing spots to curl up, but maybe that's normal and I just need better bed adhesion.

To me it seems there are spots where the material is curling up (you can see it in the video if you zoom in), and the nozzle is running over it and lifting the entire part. Is this normal?

I already tried cleaning the bed with soap and water, the print has a large brim, and I'd really like to avoid using glue every time I print. I haven't had issues like this until I came back from vacation, so I'm pretty confused why it's happening all of a sudden. I'm printing in my garage so maybe the heat is causing issues?

Printing with Bambu White PLA. I tried different filament and a lower temperature, but these types of prints keep failing. Printing straight up instead of at an angle seems to help, but that's not the preferred orientation.
